To confirm, we will start this weeks race at our regular 2130 GMT time. There will be a 10 mins qualifying race to decide the grid (collisions off for qually) and then we start the race. 13 laps in adverse weather normally takes about 2 hours.

Below is a time stamp that should help you calculate race start time for where you are

Dave, the 24hr is the weekend of 23/24th Feb. Also the Saturday evening before that (UK) is the first 4hr Enduro, a great sighter for what will follow the following w/e.

Just read through some recent posts... Awesome write up on last weeks race Dave & Gadget!!

That was a horrible first lap for me lol. Lesson learnt. Now I just need to learn how to drive that track in dark and rain. That was a challenge. And of course that's when you caught me Dave. That fast section before the karousel, I was not at all comfortable with you bearing down on me there, I just wanted out of the way lol. The only other incident I had with another driver was with Play I believe, where i think I might of damaged him with an awful lapse in focus on a simple corner. Past the incidents and the first lap... that was fun.

Next time I'll try not to give you all 7 and half minute head start on me.

then I didn't watch what tires the computer put on the car, racing medium's I believe at 53% surface water,
ended up losing to the Swedish gent PlayXXX by 12 seconds, never gave up so good work and well done to him,
Thanks TDZ!:) I never thought I was going to pass you, you're doing much faster laps then all of us. I guess you'll never do that mistake again.:)

Kudos to my buddy Play117 who didn't give up and somehow manage to pass TDZ for the win.
Looking forward to racing with you guys again (after some serious wet-racing-training).
You know, I got lucky.:sly: To bad you got heavy damaged that early. I think I camouflaged the turn with my spray (payback),:sly: just like when I didn't se the turn in your spray and spun. Yes we need wet-racing-traning.:scared:

I made silly mistakes and still had a good little battle with Play.

driving with these conditions and this group of drivers makes heavy damage endurance very enjoyable! 👍

Yea we switched places a couple of times, until you got damaged really bad.
And I fully agree with you, the driving pleasure is very high with this group.:)

The only other incident I had with another driver was with Play I believe, where i think I might of damaged him with an awful lapse in focus on a simple corner.

Yours car was out of control and looked like it was going left and I took the right side. Then when I passes your car went right. Kaboom. No damage to neither.:dopey:

It was my first online wet race and my idea before start was just to take it easy and suck in experience. I was really surprised when I realized I could keep up with most of the drivers. Maybe I just got lucky:)

~Play~

Oh, I need to be host tonight otherwise I don't get to 'see' i-was-ere' so please wait until I am in my lounge before heading in. Cheers

Jeff, are you planning racing tonight. Can't see a yes, no or maybe in any of your posts......

Edit - Just seen your post on the CRAP forums. We will try and get the race up and running quickly so hopefully you can make it. If you DO have to quit before the end we understand.

Via CRAP, allendk27 is now planning racing tonight too. Whoa, some extremely fast guys going head to head tonight.

For me just achieving a mid field finish is going to be an achievement.......

Wish I could be there tonight. My boss must hate me... 4/5 weekends I'm working night. The last one my gf is home. That mean i won't make it tonight or the next 3 weekends :-(

I am always up for practice. Like our 7 lap race today. Just send a msg

I am going to make it  if I stay awake for it is another story

Also Gadget, is that the 23/24th for you?

AND, PD have a possible disconnection's message! oh 🤬 me! just what we need so close to the 24hr event,

Dave, yes mate. Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon UK

ok, so me being ahead of you in time should make it the 24th/ 25th for me, thanks mate, see you shortly,

29 mins to go and the GT5 network is glitchy. I expect to be DCed halfway :(

We are currently experiencing an interruption of the Gran Turismo 5 online service.

We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience while we work to restore the service.

Guys...

I won't be able to make it tonight. The missus managed to catch the flu and she wants some love.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do to keep the peace at home.

Good luck to all of you and make sure you create a good recap, just like the last 2 races.

P.S.
At least I got to race for 7 laps today with Knukken in my raceroom.
Managed to win but for some reason I was unable to save the replay.
Knukken? If you have it I'd like to get my hands on it so I can watch it.
D.S.

got kicked from PSN, wouldn't let me rejoin, good luck to the rest of you,

Hi. Not a full race report from me, but I did manage to catch these photos of my brakes red hot, and got a bit of flame from the exhaust as a bonus :). Unfortunately I'm not a great photograher.

Great timing david ! Dem nasty flames are notoriously hard to catch on film.

I brought the Corvette ZR1 to a GTR fight again. Was up to 2nd spot during the qualifying 1 lap race, due to the mishaps by the front runners, but decided to start at the back because don't want the Vette to hold up the fast GTRs.

Started race proper at 10 spot. Manage to squeeze up to 3rd behind micantony and cobani.

Fooled by the 9% drizzle and swapped into Intermediates, which only lasted 2 laps of rubber. Had to swap back into Mediums and wasted a pit stop.

3 laps from race end got into a racing incident with Gadget where I jumped from behind while passing his GTR on the back straight, thus causing him to veer off into the grass. While slowing down to let him regain his position I spun the Vette into a wall at Klostertal and knock the shocks. Had to drive the remaining laps with a vibrating wheel, what fun ! :D

Also had some hairy close passing with Play117 at the last few corners. Apologies if I drove dangerously, gentlemen. Crossed the line at 5th.

Great outing. Sadly the network disconnects and player visibility glitch are affecting gameplay.

Thanks to Gadget for running the show.

hopefully PD sorts connection issues by the next one, well the 4 hour anyway, I ended up in a lag crash at the valvoline curves with Geth, I accelerated and his car stayed put, then it took off down the hairpin, then when I caught back up to the field ANFD let me through, and then after I pitted he was lag jumping all over the shop, which has never happened between us before,

OK, I'm away most of next week so here are the classified results of last nights race, together with a photo report of Lap 1. If someone else wants to write up and post more in the meantime, please do.

After the 1 lap qualification race AllenDK27 was predictably on pole, but unfortunately connection problems saw him booted and unable to make the start, promoting last weeks winner Play117 in Team Octane Racing GTR #57 to the number 1 spot. Also Davidb_165 got DC’d the moment the qually race started and therefore was forced to start from the back of the grid.

1. Play117 – Octane Racing – Chrome GTR #57
2. Cobani – Orange GTR #28
3. I-was-ere – Team Motion Blur - Yellow with Green wheels GTR #38
4. Gadget334 - Team Motion Blur - Yellow with Yellow wheels GTR #34
5. micantony – Purple GTR #8
6. ANFD – Light Blue GTR #17
7. G3TH_D -Team Motion Blur - Yellow with Red wheels GTR #35
8. TDZ-4-12-14-88 – Bronze GTR #72
9. Rosenlundaren – White GTR #29
10. BobZhn – Blue/White Corvette #9
11. Ejiff_Emro – Blue GTR #96
12. tennismcdaddy – Blue Subaru WRX
13. Davidb_165 – Orange GTR #18

Due to PSN anomalies, 3rd place i-was-ere (Yellow Team Motion Blue GTR#38) could not see the two cars ahead of him on the grid, the normal rolling start to the essess format didn’t go as planned, and through no fault of their own Play117 and Cobani inherited a 14 second lead even before the race had started.

Nuumlrburgring24h_36_zps4f2ea9f4.jpg

Finally the rest of the pack feed through the Esses.

Nuumlrburgring24h_37_zps8dfbf22e.jpg

i-was-ere in 3rd, with teamate Gadget close behind, under pressure from micantony

Nuumlrburgring24h_46_zps998b8b3e.jpg

After a very respectable 7th spot qualifying, TMB debutant G3TH_D picks up damage early on in the Nordschleife, but does the right thing and pulls offline to allow Rosenlundaren and the rest to stream past.

Nuumlrburgring24h_48_zpsf15900ba.jpg

TDZ-4-12-14-88, who was the class of last weeks race has had a torrid opening lap and limps around at the back of the field after multiple offs and a totally damaged car. As mentioned in the his previous he seemed to be experiencing/witnessing lots of lag in this race. Let's hope PSN gets sorted soon.

Nuumlrburgring24h_38_zps467762e4.jpg

With my mirror full of micantony, I run wide at Metzgesfeld executing a perfect 260 degree spin without hitting anything and then carry on with the loss of only one place....phew!

Nuumlrburgring24h_40_zps92f9c7ac.jpg

Moments later, i-was-ere concedes 3rd place losing it under braking at Wehrseifen allowing first micantony, and then Gadget and ANFD past. He rejoins in 6th.

Nuumlrburgring24h_41_zps18eb3349.jpg

The battle for the lead is intense, with Cobani looking for a way past as Play comes 'out of the saddle' at the Carousel.

Nuumlrburgring24h_47_zps8e0ffae3.jpg

Jeff with Davidb hot in his wheeltracks. He would get past before the end of the first lap.

At the end of lap 1, and with a now fully dark (but dry) track, only two cars to stop to repair damage, namely Ejiff_Elmo and TDZ Dave, but we’ve already lost tennismcdaddy and G3TH_D with DC’s. The positions at the line are Play, with a 3.7 second lead of Cobani, then 14 secs firther behind is micantony, then Gadget, ANFD, i-was-ere, Bob, Rosen, Davidb, Jeff and TDZDave.

No time for any more from me, but below are the final results after 13 laps. Congrats to micantony who battled throughout the race with Cobani and came through to take the win. Bob really took the fight to the GTR's and was right up there in the mix until (like me) he made a bad call on tyres guessing that the rain would increase, and swapped to Inters when in fact RM's was the smart choice. This resulted in an extra stop to swap back and with it his chance of a podium.

I seem to be Mr.Consistant. 3 races on the trot and 3 3rd places. I'm off the pace of the leaders but last night was really happy to make the whole race with NO damage at all, and apart from the lap 1 360 spin, and a mistake on tyres on lap 7, it was almost a perfect race for me.

Finally I see that Play demonstrated some incredible pace, posting a best lap of 8:19 which was by far the fastest. He had an epic duel with Bob on the last lap where the when he drafted pastBob early on the Dottinger Hohe straight, only to be repassed before the Bilstien Bridge as the Vette flexed it's muscles and showed it's great top speed.

Thanks to everyone for taking part in the race and demonstrating great sportsmanship and skill. I hope next week we can continue in what is becoming a unmissable weekly race.

Results @Lap 13

PSN issues aside, this all bodes well for the 4hr race in mid Feb, and the 24hr the following weekend. Hey, any of you guys not yet signed up, grab a few mates and register with Kurt to do the 24hr. It's gonna be epic!!!
