Thank you Gadget for another great writeup! 👍

So there you were i-was-ere, my console could not see your car, so have no idea whether I had knock you off track or not.

My replay shows some very close driving with Cobani on Lap 1, but no contact at all. He suddenly slowed down and took to the banks so I naturally assumed I might have hit him, glad to know no damage was done. I'll take note and maintain distance in the future. Don't underestimate lag

Sorry about the knocks David, my replay shows 1 front shock light damage after tapping you on the final straight, instead of your rear shocks. And while coming out of your slipstream on the Kesselchen straight, the Vette was floaty then suddenly have tons of grip when the front wings bite some clear air, on top of that my steering was pointing in the wrong direction. Thus car, meet wall :ouch:

After misjudging my cornering speed on lap 12 at Metzgesfeld, the Vette broke it's rear shock and that made it undrivable. I limped back half a lap to the pits and retired there, end of the race for me. Don't overdose on coffee and drive !

I'll be out of the 4-hour this weekend, having some Chinese New Year bash before that, don't think I'll be sober enough to miss the Aremburg sandpit.

Have a nice race/torture gentlemen. 👍

I believe the 4 hour is 2 hours earlier then the usual Saturday/ Sunday start time, Depending on your location in the world of course,

Room opens in 12 hours, qual in 12.5 hours and race starts in 13 hours :)

A countdown timer would be perfect. I would like an early start. :)

See HP's post, it's an hour earlier than our normal Sat night race, e.g 2030 GMT for qually with room open 30 mins before for FP.

See you there

Great. Just joined the room, managed 500m then got kicked and PS3 locked also. Now going through a file restore to get back online. Hope I can join you very soon. Been looking forward to this

Looking forward to see race results later. wish I could be there tonight. On the bright side it's the first weekend my gf is home from fri-sun in 14 months.

Race is on now but unfortunately I got kicked on the 7th lap which was a shame as race was looking pretty good and I was on a different tyre strategy to most. At time of leaving Cobani was leading from micantony, HP, WIDFO and ANFD

Great Race Cobani! 👍

It was a good battle until the vette got the better of me midway. As I said, i wish i could have stayed on track to give you a fun battle at the end.

It was fun everyone, thanks for letting me join in.

Mic, you're welcome any day mate.

For those unaware of Mic he is one of our quicker drivers in CRAP, well done on beating him Cobani.

My race was with TDZDave as well so he could get familiar with my set-up for the 24hr.

The start was ok but Dave hadn't slept after working all night and it showed LOL, much damage was had (amid the laughter) and we came second last. I switched to RH with 8 laps to go and didn't pit but I couldn't catch WIDFO after passing ANFD.

GOOD RACE ALL!

Next week I'm announcing a new format incorporatimg the weekly prac into a series so stay tuned :)

I had great fun and it was a real challenge to get through the 4hrs.
Very nice to race with Mic and the pressure was always on, because of the great paced he had during the race. The change of strategy after 2 hrs got my attention big time Mic! 👍 :)
Gadget was also in the hunt with his longer pitwindow. Too bad of the dc not long after that. 👎

Can't wait for the series announcement HP, I like this series because it requires a totally different racing style to the other serie I'm in. 👍 Keep up the good work!

Apologies for my poor display, I went better when I settled down into a pattern then did my fastest lap,

hopefully its out of my system prior to the 24hr, were all the laps completed?

So...are we all ready for the "Nurburg 24hr" this weekend? Team Motion Blur can't wait!!👍

I'm ready! And Team MB can wait.... At the start line :-D

Edit:

The announcement next week is being brought forward, at least some of it.

I will be launching an FDNA ( full damage, no aids) endurance series starting next month.

The tracks are as follows:

Race 1: Laguna Seca - 90 min race.
Race 2: Daytona Road - 120 min
Race 3: Suzuka - 150 min
Race 4: Le Sarthe - 180 min
Race 5: Nurburgring 4hr circuit - 240 min.

This series will have 2 weeks inbetween races and will be run with GT300 class cars on Sunday mornings here in Aus, the same time as the recent 4 hour race so around 8pm GMT from memory.

Points will be awarded and the overall winner of the series will win a lifetime premium GTP membership.

Any questions to me via PM.

A new thread will probably replace this one soon.

Sounds interesting. Can you give a list of eligible cars/tuning/tyres please?

Of course but that will follow next week.

The 2000 GMT start is ok for a 4 hour, but as most are shorter can we do a little later, like we do for the practise races. 2000 is plumb in the middle of a Saturday night and some of us have other commitments/family/partners to keep happy until a bit later :indiff:

I am as ready as I will be for the 24 Hr and cannot wait for the start.

The FDNA series looks very interesting and I like the class. A two weekly series is perfect for me as long as it coincides with my work roster. I work an 8 days in 6 day out roster which means I am only here at home every second weekend.

Sign me up.

I'm happy to do 2 hours later, I figured earlier would be best for you northerners but if later is better then I'm ok with waking up 2hrs later :)

.....and so it begins :mischievous:

Gadget.... You've no idea, so far you've seen nice heathen but come tomorrow the game face goes on brother, same goes for dem pesky Swedes :)

On behalf of the entire Team Octane Racing from Sweden, I'd like to wish every participant in the wurks.ca 24hr Nürburgring race all the respect and a "jolly good time" (as Gadget probably would have said in pure british accent).

See you guys on the track and keep it clean in the first couple of corners.

You won't win the 24hr race on the first lap, but you can certainly lose it!!!

👍
