I think i would be miffed if I had bought the v6, and am now stuck with a very un-V8 AMG. How does 4Matic differ from their regular "steptronic" or whatever the auto box is called?
In fact, I've come up with a pretty decent, nearly-always true rule for knowing what all-wheel drive is on Japanese/German imports: If there's an "X" in a vehicle's name or a "4" that doesn't stand for engine size, it's all-wheel drive.
I know. I thought the same thing originally. You think a company as intelligent as Mercedes-Benz could come up with a better term than "4Matic" to describe all-wheel drive. Like... "4XMotion". Or... "Quattro". Wait, those terms suck.
No bother - Mercs aren't known for AWD anyway, and the only advertising they do touting 4Matic is print advertising in upscale Rocky Mountain and New England newspapers.
