Cals street Driven GN

i don't think that car is street driven. it might be street legal but i bet that guy driving the car towed it to the track and didn't drive it there.

I know a guy with a car from the 50's that runs low-to-mid 7 second passes down the 1/4, and his car is streetlegal. He drives it to the track everytime he runs it, and he lives over an hour away from the track. That just goes to show you pretty much anything can be street driven.

He must get awesome mileage.

How is that on the engine though? I always figured they'd need to be overhauled every other run.

I don't believe it needs to be overhauled that often. The last time I went to the track I saw him make multiple(5-6) passes in an hour.

I'm not sure how driving a car like that on the street would be on the engine. Obviously it isn't that bad, or he wouldn't do it. It shouldn't be too bad considering it would be driven very easily on the way to the track, never hitting WOT.

I dunno a 7 sec car driven on the street, was it N/A?,,,Iv seen cars that run 7 sec and one was a turbo small block camaro and the other was a regal with a BBC nitrous motor.

What does that guy do for tires if he drives it to the track. Unless he has somone bring the tires down with him.

I don't know any details on the car. I'm almost positive it's n/a, though. I have no idea about tires. I'd think running 7's he'd be using slicks, but that would make it not streetlegal, and that would really put some wear on a good set of slicks. He may just use a wide ass set of DR's.

He probabably has someone bring them down because even those drag radials are not sticky enough. Any sort of car that runs 7's has to have continous maintenance.
He probably runs a large shot of spray. The only cars iv seen go into the 7's with no nos, turbo, super charger, is a rail car. and those are reallly light.

I'm sure someone brought down a set of tires for him. Propbably his wife. I knew she was always at the track, but as far as I remember the car didn't have a passenger seat.

I'm sure it is a huge pain in the ass for him to drive it down there, but I know he gets a kick out of being able to hear the announcer's say, "...and the fastest car of the night is the <insert name of driver/car here>, and he even drove the car to the track tonight!"

There used to be a guy on the LS1.com forums(he was known on a bunch of forums, though) who supposedly had a car than usually ran 6.8's(some kind of Nova, or Dart, or something). Everyone used to say he would take it out, and streetrace it, but I find that really hard to believe.
