They said they did some adjusting to the campaign difficulty after the new update so I wanted to try again any silver medal races I got to see if I can do better. I chose the race and right away I see that MY RECORD is faster than the current fastest time needed for a gold medal yet I still have silver. No problem ill just do the race again and get gold easy this time. Not only is the time prolonged but now you don't get penalty for hitting opponents or barriers (certain mission tracks)...easy. So I beat the required time, get the gold medal screen, go back and im still silver?
Long story short, if your previous MY RECORD, even though its faster than the time required now, you have to beat your own record in order to get gold. Now if you were off a few seconds it shoudl be easy, but if before you were missing gold by a hundredths of a second, that means you were pretty close to the max time available. Its a bit annoying because even though they made the time required easier, you are still fighting against the old clock so to speak. I did manage to grab gold in the end but only by beating my record. Just letting you guys know, btw I tried this with a few tracks and its same result. Here is my video of it:
