Can anybody make a comparison shot?

He wants a comparison between GT5's Eau Rouge and FM5's. I suggest the OP waits for GT6 to come out first to do a comparison.

I fully understood the OP's request, and your second comment is what I was alluding to (with a slight addition). 👍

Ok so does the real track have red/white curbing or red/yellow? The little blue shack on the right side? I like the GT5 trees better, FM5 has good asphalt detail, more cars and vehicles in background, the Total banners along the fence, a balloon. But, so what?

I thought that by saying the track has red and yellow curbs, you would realize that I'm talking about the present..

Since FM5 is next gen it should have been miles better, they look the same. Maybe wait until GT6 is released and compare again

You can't compare gt5 or gt6 with fm5 because gt6 is (Current gen) and FM5 is (Next gen) so we should wait until gt7 and compare it with fm5 or fm6

Why wait? Why can't we compare them as they are? If the Forza version is that much better then PS3 users will better understand what they are giving up in getting GT6 on PS3. If the GT5/6 version is very close to Forza, then maybe we aren't giving up so much.

From what I hear, Forza 5 wont have night time or rain, and it wont work with existing steering wheels.

Not sure who would want to give up those features

I have always thought that Forza also has those options in their games.

Don't several million people buy Forza? Obviously we don't all have the same tastes or maybe som buy it because it's on XBox and we buy GT because it's on the PS platform. Whatever the reason, it never hurts to compare.

Night time and rain are the two most underused features online, as soon as there's bit of dusk or the track gets a bit damp, people are crying for the host to change to noon and blue skies. So I guess a lot of people wouldn't miss those features.

As for wheels, there's a lot of people (most people, I'd guess without having any actual numbers) who play with the DS3, so those would have nothing to lose there either.

I wouldn't care if the curbs were painted pink and blue, the detail is still awesome...

Now, I would agree that any comparison should be made between similar generation titles, although I understand the rational behind Johnypenso's post.

And I do not agree about the night time and rain being the most underused features online. On a "championship" we set between friends every now and then, when the track has time and weather change we use it. Again, for the casual gamer, I agree that if the said features get omitted it will not matter very much.

As for wheels, true, the majority of players must be using DS3, but no self respecting company can ignore the "committed" gamers using wheels to enjoy their product. Their numbers? Quite a few, if you check the participations in Time Trial event...

DS3 numbers are not quite few. Of course the most of the time trial guys would have a wheel, most serious players have a wheel. But their are much more casual players who don't do TT's, or are much lower down, that use a DS3.

We are not saying anything different ...

Someone will have to take a shot of the track at or near the same angle and position. The link given have cars included, you wont be able to get a correct viewing to judge or compare.

7800 of 43000 = quite a few, aren't they? And that number is taken now, when the game's life is ending.

Anyway, maybe the above post is just wishful thinking by my part, the one concerning wheels, because I am a (not so proud) new owner of a Fanatec GT3RS V2 - CSP combination.
