Can I change monitor names? (PC)

I have 2 displays that I use with my windows 7 PC, a TV and a normal PC monitor. The names for these displays are switched so the PC is called the projector and the TV is called the computer.

These are the names that are displayed when holding the windows key and the P key.

I'm curious if there's a way to switch the names around?

Iv'e looked but haven't found anything yet. Any help would be appreciated.

This is for Windows 8, might work in principle for you too?

The BIOS presumably wouldn't see the name change but I think you'd see it at OS level.

If that doesn't work then check out the documentation for your graph card?

After looking around I dont think this is possible. I did some searching around and found this thread that broke down the issue, monitors are assigned numbers 1 or 2 and those simply cannot be switched.

Oh well, I'll just have to get used to it.

OK sorry if you tried this it's a long shot. Have you tried switching the cables going into your GPU?

Alas they are different cables so I cant swap them, but that would likely do it. one is VGA the other is HDMI.

Actually maybe I could just get and adapter for the VGA (VGA to HDMI).
