The reason behind the question is that I just bought a PSP. Quite a nice little gadget. The problem is, it has WLAN support but I don't have a wireless router so I'd like to know if it's possible to use the PS3 as one. My plan was to have the PS3 connected to the normal router with an RJ45 cable, then take the incoming signal and send it over the WLAN to the PSP, enabling browsing the web with the PSP.

Am I simply going nuts or is this actually possible?

Kind of. You can 'Remote Play' with your PSP and access the browser, etc on the PS3 from your PSP.

Not sure if you can actually use the PS3's internet connection for your PSP.

Pako is correct, the only way to access internet through the PS3 is to do a remote play, if not in remote play, the PSP will connect to the PS3 and get a IP address, but it will throw up DNS errors when yo try to connect. Mabe there is hope for the future, but not now.

Bugger. Maybe I'll consider getting a real wireless link station then. But thanks for the quick answer! 👍

I think you can do it, if yo install Linux on the PS3, it would certainly be possible on a PC running Linux, so probably here too.

On the other hand a wireless router is less than €80 so it's probably not worth the hassle.
