Can someone please fill me in on GT3PS4

Hi, I played this game for the first couple weeks it was out and set many GT3 times on different tracks in time trial.

I'm just about to get back into it and have a few questions. I've heard that there has been a GT3 class re-balancing.

Have all GT3 cars been made slightly slower? Or have the cars just been balanced appropriately to have a similar pace in class? Has this affected the leaderboards (are there some times that can now not be beaten due to re-balancing? e.g. someone who has set a world record with the 488 when the game was released?)

Any update on having a separate GT3 leaderboard (considering it's popularity)? It was slightly annoying in the first couple weeks, but now that hundreds of people have set times, I can imagine it being tedious to have to scroll all the way through to find GT3 among GT1 times.

Thanks, I look forward to playing this.

I second that the leaderboards need class filtering desperately.
SMS say both Sony and MS wont let them put class leaderboards in their own game. Its a very strange one! One that makes no sense.

Not played Forza since 5 but is that game the same regarding leaderboards?

I think it is the memory limitations of the consoles, maybe more a cloud limitations Think about this way if an FPS had leaderboards for every gun loadout. Way to many options.

Plenty of space in the cloud it certainly would not be an issue if leaderboards were hosted that way, Im pretty certain SMS have came out and said Sony will not allow leaderboards for each class or that Sony restrict them on how they handle leaderboards. As i say it's a very odd situation how a dev cannot implement a proper leaderboard in their very own game.

My memory is hazy but im fairly sure Forza does not suffer from this.

That is bizarre. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but Driveclub had a seperate leaderboard for every single car on every track, and an overall leaderboard.

It has to do with the number of car and track combinations that are possible in pCars 2. Think of every variation of every circuit just for one car, it adds up quick.

Fair enough, it makes sense. Still, I think it would be nice to somehow have a system that lets you know where you ranked according to your class and what the top time is, doesn't have to be an all out leaderboard if that's the case.

Are you sure? On the official forums they seem certain that SMS have blamed Sony on why its not in (SMS spoke about it for the first title) Also its class leaderboards not every car. Why would storing the leaderboard data on the cloud be an issue? Its fine on PC every class has a leaderboard.

I don't think it's a storage issue as much as it's an issue with how many search parameters the consoles themselves are able to deal with. That's the only reason I can think of at least.

Who is they? There are post on here from SMS about this if anyone really wants to search for them. PC always has less limitations than consoles.

Gran Turismo and Driveclub both have leaderboards, and everything works fine. Suddenly PC2 have some problems with that? How is that? In Poland we have very wise proverb for such situations - when you do not know what's going on, it's about money.

Maybe creating dedicated server structure under PlayStation Network is simply too expensive solution?

SMS answer on leaderboards for consoles

"Is that about console leaderboards? IIRC there were platform related reasons why individual vehicle leaderboards can't be created. The chance for a workaround would be sorting the leaderboards in another way, but it was decided that we go with the classes"

"The difference between the consoles and the PC leaderboards is that SMS has a server running which is hosting the leaderboards for PC and therefore has complete freedom which leaderboards are created (=all). For the consoles we're dependent on external means.

I'm sorry, but the only means to compare yourself with others is using the fastest cars (I know it sounds stupid, but that's what it is) and in the hosted events."

Very very strange as someone else has pointed out DC can have leaderboards for everysingle car yet PCARS cannot have leaderboards for just each class?

Driveclub & GT (and Forza on XB) are first party, is platform holder, titles. From memory, the leaderboard restrictions apply to third parties on console.

They've decided to go with classes, fair enough. Honestly, I can see how asking for individual car leaderboards might be too much and it's not a huge deal. But how is mixing GT3 with GT1 times going with classes? Same with trackday and road cars, and there might be some others that are unfairly mixed. I really hope it's something that they are not currently satisfied with. In a year from now it is going to become so tedious to scroll through GT1 times to find the fastest GT3 guys and their setups/ghosts.

Thank you for finding that information by the way.

I agree the class is a bit of a puzzle but biggest problem is you can only get a ghost and setup from the top 20 on console

@IanBell is there any possibility of having seperate class leaderboards in the near future? I understand individual class leaderboards cannot be created, and it's not a big deal, but as time goes on it is getting harder and harder to find GT3 times (including top 20 ghosts/setups which should be accessible but are not) among the faster GT1 times (and similar applies to other classes that are mixed).

Thank you.
