Can u tell what I'm doing wrong?

Okay, I can hold the drift until about half way thru the turn the back end complete spins...I'm using a 700 hp 300zx with stock tires and suspension.

for starters WAY too much power.....
need about 400 or less...
find a setup in the forums for the car ur using and for christ sake tap the gas dont hold down the button:rolleyes:

If the car's oversteering, then try to let the gas go and countersteer more. You don't have to hold the throttle all the time during the drift. Just modulate it to keep the car sideways.

do like kRaC_hEd* said and tune down the power. try differnt tires too, i stick with sim though. also, try drifting slower. when i first started to learn drifting, i would go into a turn at 100+ mph and just spin out. try using less power, more steering.

with higher hp like above 300 i avoid sims just cause spin out is much more likely with close ratio and high hp.... unless you have a wheel adn are acustomed to it... but i would definately change tires.... start out with slicks or super slicks if you are using a higher hp vehicle... but i would suggest building your hp up gradually so you can perfect your drifting skills.... if you get frustrated with spinouts start with a lower hp car and probably on slicks so you can get a feel for the controlling a car with throttle and countersteer ... then work you way to higher hp on slicks and then finally do the same thing on sims and then on the rain tracks all over again....

I think there's no need to low down the power. It's a matter of skill with the accelerator and steering. With very high hp the drift is all power over. I mean, no feint, no braking entering corners... just before corners enter with "low" speed, power over and countersteer controling carefully the "X button".

in reply to the last dood who sed sumthing, obiously the dood that started the thread is a n00b to drifting(no offence meant). so to learn how to drift and drift wel u gotta work up to drifting high hp cars... higher hp is harder to drift. if you start low then its easyer.... just my opinion.
(please excuse the spelling)
400hp or less and sim tires thats the way to go mate.
