Can you beat Timo Bernhard? Become the Nürburgring Meister

The feat: Back in June Timo Berhard set the record (by almost a minute faster) of 5:19 at Nürburgring Nordschleife with his Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo.

The challenge: Beat his time with the most similar in-game car, the '16 Porsche 919 Hybrid.

The best I could manage so far was 5:50. But I will keep at it.
Can you beat his time?

With the upgrades the Evo had on it, it won't be possible.

My time was set with maximum power upgrade and minimum weight, but on racing hard tires and with a conservative lap. I guess with supersofts, some gear adjustments and aggressive driving it's not impossible.

1 time there was gr1 on nordschleife in daily race
I did 5:38 in first attempt, probably in r18 (I don't remember, but this wasn't fastest car on field too - porsh probably was fastest, but I didn't like handle of this car in stock tune)
I think in porsh with max power, min weight and tuning on I easily could beat that time

I did a 5:19 myself too, but that was before the tire update. It would be a heck of a lot harder now.

Of course he can be beaten. Quite easily if he's tied to a chair

The top speed on the straights is a lot slower than the real car (350 kmh vs 370 kmh), so it led me to believe he's making all the time in the corners. Shows you how much more grip the magical RSS tyres have over real life.

Our resident FIA Finals commentator also had a go with a mod car in Assetto Corsa and went faster. The mod car itself isn't that accurate either though. No DRS for starters.

Bernhard wouldn’t have been 100% in the real car. Too risky given track undulations and safety.
