Can you only try academy once?

I read something in the rules that I didnt like. It says that you cant try if youve been eliminated from any round of academy before. What does this mean? Is this just racecamp or the national finals too?

I think its a bit unfair if you get eliminated for inexperience and can never try again. Some people might just not be ready yet but have the potential. I see a lot of people that were eliminated early possibly because of nerves or inexperience on the track. Nissan are possibly missing out on a lot of great drivers when they mature in ability. I get that this gives everyone a chance though and follows the reality tv format where the contestants are new each year.

Can someone that knows academy more intimately please clarify what that rule means and possibly share why it exists.

Thanks.

If you reach Race Camp you may not participate in future National/Regional finals. If you don't you can keep on coming back.

1.5.Entrants advancing to the Territory Finals (as defined below) and beyond may not be eligible to enter any future GT Academy competition.

So as I reached the UK national final in 2014, I cannot enter this year?

Theoretically, that term makes it possible for the organisers to restrict national finalists from competing again, but in practice they have never actually gone that far. Just as well, as four of the six UK guys who made it to Race Camp in 2014 were 2013 national finalists.

I say we'll be good to enter again this year

I was rather hoping that was the case, its a sensible rule to have. Let's see what we can do this time round :)
