Can't have our 6th beer while at work? Now that's begging for a well deserved strike.

To some extent, I would imagine drinking actually helps productivity. A happy worker will do better work...

Now it becomes clear why those wacky Danes chose to infuriate the muslim world with those cartoons --they're all blotto at the office!

M Factoid: I used to work for an Internet startup here in the States that had beer in the fridge and at 5:00 PM, everyone started playing Counter-Strike at their desks.

I wish I could find work like that today, but it's impossible, even entering with a masters degree, that type of environment is gone (except for a few companies, Google, etc, but no-where that I would consider).

We used to enjoy sometimes quite a bit of drinking during lunch time at my previous job, getting back to "work" (defined as trying to stay awake) past 2-3pm. That was once in a while at the office, and almost on a daily basis when doing business trips. Since It was with the CEO / owner most of the time, it didn't cost much either.

Never enjoyed video games at work though.

It was fun while it lasted, but the downside was that when I left the company owned me ~$30,000 in unpaid wages.

But hey our company TFC clan was a Gold title holder in the STA league.

There's a lot to be said for it. There are few joys in life better than solving an office disagreement by virtually pumping your coworker full of lead or sticking a knife between his shoulder blades, then telling him he's your b%^ch over the office intercom. ...while enjoying a frosty cold one.. after a hard day of doing mostly nothing.
