Can't join matches with good connection?

Seems like I can jus about never join any room with 3+ bars...WTF? It kicks me literally 5 seconds after I join!

Do I need to open ports? My NAT type is 2 and I apparently have "high bandwidth" (as GT5 says).

Bugs me that I can't stay in my friends lobby :/.

Hmmm not to sure what's going on there. You should be able to join just about any game with your type of connection.

Additional question:
I have the same connection type an i used to be able to start a lobby for 16 people and have the race quality on high (recommended) . Now it's saying low??? Anyone have any ideas why?

i download the 600mb patch within 20 mins, and i still get stupid car spinouts...and since then i gave up online..quite timid to show my horrible skill

Your connection sounds like it should run perfectly. Maybe have a crack at doing some port forwarding or even putting ur ps3 into DMZ like me.
