Is it possible to drift the entire "Ring" in the track Cape Ring?
I find that the banking makes the grip of the tyres more intense, but having unbalanced tyre setups (Com Soft/Com Hard) tends to lead to a spinout midway through the ring.

So, tell me if it's possible:tup:

Yep, it's possible but I think it is much easier if you have a wheel. When I drift around the ring I have to put in small countersteering inputs in order to keep the car going along with finesse of the throttle. Both hard to do on a DS3 but possible.

It's even more easier when you have about 500hp+

Yes it is and no I haven't.

I think the trick is to keep the speed up around ~130 km/h and keep a very steady angle. The radius of the bend changes in the first and last part, which means adjusting speed. That's where I **** up everytime :nervous:

What line do you drift when you approach these bend changes?

On entry i go from the outside to the inside line at the change (atleast thats what I try :dopey:). Keep the inside line through the middle part and go to the outside line again after the second change.

I think the problem is that I can't visually see it before the car goes off course.

I try and go for the outside line at both changes, because the banking at both changes can ruin your drift if your on the inside line. I'm not sure why though.

Try with a wheel and you'll see its not easy at all.

Anyone decent on a wheel can drift easily and effortlessly on a d-pad, wheel drifting is a skill of its own, I have seen countless people give up trying on a wheel.

If people think they can just go to using a wheel and drift they are probably going to get a big shock.

Which is why I said that its wrong thinking the big Cape ring north curb is "easy" with a wheel. Its far easier to drift with a controller, I can't personally coz I'm too used to the wheel.

The advantage of a wheel is that you can hold the angle, it isnt easy on both, but if you experienced with a wheel, it shouldnt be a problem, I know more people with a wheel who can do it than with a DS3. I can do it. Just go in from right left, countersteer it. That really helps a lot. I did it a couple of times now, I practiced since PSN is off. Doing it in reverse is a bit easier. I can do it with a Chaser and C63.

Yea, i can do it consistently online on both DS3 & wheel. The wheel is, as everyone has said, easier and power does play a big part. My Amuse S2000 does it without any trouble, but i need to wrestle my lower powered S15 to complete the entire circle. Comfort hards all the way or you'll probably spin out 👍

Still saying using a wheel is easier to drift is partly wrong, you're a lot more busy when you use a wheel. The bit that is easier with a wheel and accel, brake and steering control that are more accurate but also if you have to do corrections its not as quick as with a DS3.

Yeah, but with a DS3 I can't make small corrections of the car snapping over, thats why I can't drift with a DS3.

Yes and you don't have to have different tires for front and back. All you have to do is stay on the bank and stay away from the leveled part. If your nose gets into the leveled part and your car is further into the bank (especially long cars), you're done. Game over. If you decide that you'd want to drift the upper part of the bank, go ahead with less angle and more speed. Kinda the inverse for the lower bank. It's hard but it's fun.

P.S. It's a little easier if you stay in the middle area of the turn. Usually it's just full lock and full throttle. Once you get to the "top" decrease speed a little as there's a little bump that will make you go into the walls hard.. :)
