Car name or driver name?, What do you prefer?

I only play offline, so in my case I started with driver names but changed to car names because I think that information is more relevant. What is your choice for number 8 info?

Car type would be more useful though imo.

I too would prefer to see the car names displayed.

I also didn't know it was adjustable.

Could you shed some light on how this is achieved?

Press triangle before the race starts I think.

I have no need to see names, but seeing what car is ahead/behind helps when they are not in view. Especially as all the modern boxes look the same except for the pretty 991

Oh, I had thought that was for seeing driver names over the cars on replays.

I race online mostly so you need driver names, then you know when certain players who lets say tend to not be the cleanest are behind you and when it's someone you know you can trust. I race using hood view, so no rear mirror and don't want to use look behind all the time but it'll be different for others no doubt.

Online I use driver name to see who's around me so I remember if I've raced cleanly against them or not in the past, and make a mental note for the future if I don't recognise them.

Offline car only is more relevant as the AI driver names are just cosmetic.

Online defo driver name - what's the point in seeing scirroco, scirroco, scirocco or megane, megane, megane or M4, M4, M4. Offline, indifferent.

Go to the settings gear icon on the right, then you can turn off race info or all info (I don't know whether this includes names)

...did try that already, doesn't turn off names over cars, except if they did change something in 1.11... o.O

Online: drivers’ names. For I play most one make races. So the cars are the same anyways

Offline: cars’ names.

I wish they had the floating names over cars from GT6 as an option again. Not good for immersion but handy to see who's who from a distance without looking away to the driver list.

Car names for offline and names for online btw.
