Hi all, new to the boards. I did a search on this and I don't think I've seen this on the boards yet. There's a car commentary feature in the replays on the japanese version as well as info on the cars. Does anyone know why this was left out of the US versions. Would really love to see it GT5 especially on those don't have anything to do days.

Seriously? They either do that or seem most likely to? Last time I saw a copy, it was going for $4.99! What a bargain that would be!

Is it actually any good? Or does the commentator just have x amount of sayings that he says in no particular order?

AFAIK, the comments are in Japanese, so unless you understand it, there's little point to it.

And to answer batou's question, only the Japanese (2nd edition)/Korean version of GT4 has this. It was left out of the US/Euro version.

Well I still want commentary, and I'll eventually get one of these discs..I don't care what language it's in, I wanna hear it! I've been wishing for dialogue for awhile now, even tho it would be so cheesy. My friend has an old Nintendo soccer game for the N64 with commentary you can switch on and off. The guys making the comments is this goofy British dude who gets over-the-top excited whenever a goal is scored and such....it never gets boring!

A friend of mine has it. Remember the car details that appeared scrolling or next to the cars in the previous GTs, where you could learn abiout the car's origin, engine specs, and an overall history of it? Well, that's what.

oh. so no actual voice-over stuff? It's just the info you can read about each car? Maybe they didn't feel like translating to other languages...hence, PD left the info out of NTSC and PAL versions.

Ah, now I know what it is! It makes a brief appearance in the intro demo in GT3, in the NTSC version. Except it was in grainy blue-tinted film... The cars were a Nissan Skyline GT-R (I believe) and a Dodge Viper GTS.
