Just for trivia here, as the PP of the cars in GT7 has been readjusted into a new scale compared to the last time it was used, I'm trying to compare them, within several car categories for the cars that already existed in GT6 before. There'd be some other lists of the car category here like the GTS/GT7 newcomers (including a comparison to a car resembling it previously) or comparable cars (in performance like non-JDM cars with "276hp" level performance), but the ones that existed in GT6 before takes priority here to compare the scales (of which you can use to compare with newcomers too). There's also a (quite lengthy) evaluation I get/create between these comparisons, though you can use the conclusion to get through faster points.
Cars that make up the list would be real life cars (other than Ford GT Spec II and PD's Formula race cars). For road cars, they're inserted on one of the performance categories based on their PP on GT6, so even if their GT7 PP is way below the others in the same category, cars like Camaro Z28 1969 or Tesla Model S are in Japanese "Gentleman's Agreement" (non-JDM) and Supercars (entry level) respectively.
Rankings are now added to sort the car PPs from highest to lowest, separately for both games. There's also car standing comparison between GT6 and GT7 (only cars that appeared in both games/resembling them can be here). Cars in rankings aren't written with their full names. In the case of ties for GT6, the car with a higher PP in GT7 is above. Some additions in each performance categories are added for further comparison like the car's country flag in "Gentleman's Agreement" or marking cars that appeared in GT6 with 6๏ธโฃ (๐ for cars resembling a non-returning one) in GT7 ranking.

In GT6, the PP for these cars usually ranges from 440 to 470 (up to level 7 in GT5, but very rarely up to level 8), though it can extend down to about 420 (none of the cars with around 250 hp reach 440 PP, while most "276hp" cars start around the 440 PP mark, with few exceptions like the Supra A70). For GT7, the PP now ranges from 470 to 530 PP, but it can be reduced to 440 for some classic cars. The XNR is by far the lowest performer in both GT6 and GT7.
Now NSX is the JDM with the highest PP; the facelift one, with the pop-up version not far behind (both are the Type R version), seems to make sense as NSX was the unbeatable one in JDM competitions in GT1 (Normal Car Cup). The standard NSXs exhibited rather low PP values in GT5 and GT6, generally falling between 440-450, while the Type Rs didn't significantly exceed that range.
The 350Z now boasts a high PP that surpasses both the Supra RZ and the Skyline R34. While the Evo VIII previously had the highest PP among JDM cars in GT6, it has settled into a more average range of 512.88 in GT7, with the Tommi Makinen Evo now being the Evo with the highest PP. RX-7 is the one having closer PP to the NSXs now.
Some older "276hp" JDM vehicles have notably low PP ratings, such as the GTO Twin Turbo, which sits in the 470 range. This is even lower than some cars with a 250hp range (which is why I put them here too) like the S2000. The Silvia spec-R, however, has seen a substantial increase and now almost reaches 500 PP, surpassing cars like Evo IV and being relatively close to vehicles like the Impreza, both of which are also 276hp examples.
The foreign "276hp" had mostly similar PP range as the JDMs.... but there can be even more impressive ones; 4C and A110 had around 240hp (none of the JDM cars reached 440 PP in GT6 or 500 PP in GT7), but they rank among the highest in this context, outperforming many cars with higher hp.
For cars that are primarily known as supercars (albeit later Japan also got GT-R and NSX on supercar territory), Corvette and 911 have quite surprising numbers of their models that fall within the "276hp" category, albeit the classic ones. In GT7, the C3 Convertible has a notably low PP, weirdly different from the other Corvettes.
Among non-JDM classic cars, PP ratings tend to be even lower, For example, muscle cars that had average PP in GT6, like the Camaro Z28, only have around 430 PP in GT7. The Testarossa has a lower PP than the 512BB, which contributes to the perception of the NSX as a Japanese supercar by matching the Testarossa. And now RX500's PP is below RX-8, of which its PP was higher than most JDMs in GT5/6.
The Scirocco R's PP has seen an upward adjustment within the "276hp" category, bringing it in line with the Evo V. Previously, it did not reach the 440 PP threshold like other 250hp or lower cars, such as the MR2 GT-S.

Aside from race or track cars, it appears that the moderate PP change from GT6 to GT7 is approximately +50, with a variance of ยฑ5. This variability is based on cars that maintained their standings in GT6 or GT7 (that aren't in the very top or bottom) without significant position changes, such as the 1998 Integra in "Other Sport JDMs" or the Huayra in the "Supercars".
In this section, I aim to approximate each car's PP on the GT6 scale while considering GT7's adjustments for those cars that experienced significant raises or drops in PP (listed in a similar order as the Conclusion above) and the newcomers, by reducing their GT7 PP by 50, along with their decimal points, and compare it to their former GT6 PP (their replacements cars for newcomers).

Doing this one only to fill on the blanks (regarding JDMs, and only some of them). In GT6, the PP for lower-tier other JDM sports cars typically ranges from 350 to 370 PP, while higher-performing models generally sit between 390 and 410 PP. In GT7, lower-performing cars have a PP range of approximately 380 to 420, while higher-performing models are found between 440 and 470 PP.
The higher-performing models, such as the Integras, tend to see a moderate PP change of +โ50 from GT6 ones. Many of the older, lower-performing cars, however, saw their PP dropped (only +โ20-30), making most of them now have a lower PP than Swift Sport '07, the only one among them with a moderate change. Previously Swift '07 had the lowest PP among these cars, but it's now on par with the 370 PP cars in GT6.
And like S15 above, both S14 Silvias here (with Aero version that has GT6 PP to compare) have seen a significant PP increase, enabling its PP to surpass that of some "276 hp" level cars, such as the GTO Twin Turbo.
The AE86 Shuichi Shigeno stands out as an anomaly, already having a PP of 434 (MR2 GT-S level) on the GT6 scale, and unlike other classics, it got even higher here at 508.56 PP. Although it has consistently had "276hp" level performance in both games, its actual hp is 207, similar to the other cars in this category.

The PP for supercars in GT6 range from approximately 530 (like the F40 at 528) to 630 PP, with most cars hovering between 530 and 580 PP (cars ranging from lv. 11-15 in GT5), while only a few cars that outclass regular supercars, such as the Huayra, exceed 600 PP. In GT7, supercar PP now ranges from about 570 to 690, except LaFerrari and the Mission X.
At the entry level, I include cars like the Viper GTS '02, Countach, or R8 4.2, which may be viewed as supercars for some despite not being as powerful or fast. The PP for these cars in GT6 spans from roughly 490 to 520. In GT7, their PP ranges from 530 to 560, except for the Tuscan Speed 6, which reaches around 570 PP, despite having only 496 PP in GT6.
Overall, more cars have exceeded 630 PP in GT7 than those that surpassed 590 PP in GT5 and GT6, due to more vehicles with 700+hp being present here, such as the Aventador SV, AMG GT Black Series, and F12berlinetta.
Many previously high-end PP cars from the PS3 era (lv. 14-15), such as the Ford GT '06, SLR McLaren, Viper GTS '13, XJ220, and even Aventador, MP4-12C, and F1 (lv. 17), have seen their PP dropped in GT7. In the past I asked about Lamborghini's PP being low (as well as Mercedes being really high), I guess this is addressed in GT7 for the Mercs including SLS. Among Lambos, the Gallardo's PP has increased, now surpassing that of the Murcielago LP640. The Huracan also has a higher PP than the Aventador.
One-77's the high-end PP cars with a moderate PP change, bringing it closer to that of the F1. More modern supercars, such as the 650S and the GT 2017, are now taking the place of these high-end PPs. The Enzo, which already had high PP in GT6, has seen an increase in GT7, now approaching the Veyron's PP. The 430 Scuderia experienced a significant PP increase compared to its GT6 position, where it was still close to the base F430. The base F430 also surpasses the Ford GT '06 and SLR here.
Some classics here feature notably high PP, unlike most other classic cars. The F40, once lower on the scale in GT6 (similar to the C7 Corvette), now boasts a PP of around 610 in GT7 (โ560 in GT6 terms), with the F50 slightly higher. The 911 GT1 also has higher PP than the Carrera GT.
Although the Zonda R had a slightly higher PP than the Huayra in GT6, track day hypercars have seen a significant PP increase in GT7, now far surpassing regular supercars, with some sitting between 760 and 800 PP (even the Renault R.S.01 is at 734.60). The Valkyrie stands out as being far higher than any other car. This phenomenon extends to road cars, like the S2000 GT1, the 911 GT1, and cars such as the 911 GT3 (991); really high for a 491hp car.
Conversely, the Veyron's PP has been dropped in GT7, where it had a higher PP than the Huayra in GT6, likely due to its weight and cornering capabilities. While it remains superior to most supercars, several 700+hp competitors, including the AMG GT Black Series and Corvette C7 ZR1, now outpace the Veyron.
Lightweight track cars exhibit more variation but still qualify for supercar-level PP. The N-Class system doesnโt adequately categorize them; for example, the X-Bow doesn't belong in the N-300 despite having supercar PP in GT7 at around 640. In GT Sport, the BAC Mono would have been categorized as N-300, despite its higher-end supercar PP in GT7.

It is clear that the PP for race cars have drastically increased in this game. In GT6, many race cars had their PP around supercar levels (520-580), like Group B in 540, and JGTC/Super GT cars (except the Z GT500 '06) in the 560-580 range. Some race cars, like GT3 vehicles, were a bit higher than supercars (not the likes of Huayra), ranging from 590-610. Though these race cars had higher unlock levels than supercars in GT7 despite a similar PP range (e.g. JGTC/Super GT cars were unlocked at lv. 18-20). The only exceptions were the race cars that were significantly superior to supercars, such as Group C cars (ranging from 670-690).
Now, the situation has changed dramatically. GT3 and other touring divisions (like LM and IMSA) range from 710 to 740 PP, JGTC cars sit around 700, newer GT500 cars are around 800, and turbocharged Super GT500 or DTM cars are between 850 and 860. Other touring cars, including GT4 and DTM, fall around 650. Group B cars are also around 650, while Group C/LMH cars are between 840 and 850, and LMP cars now range from 880 to 900. Open Wheel cars are the only type maintaining a moderate PP change from GT6 to GT7, with how high they're already in the former, the gap between 700 and 880+ in GT6 were so underutilized.
This means that only a few high-end supercars (typically those with huge power) can now compete with race cars at similar PP levels. And that's for lower level race cars like DTM. In the case of GT3, only the LaFerrari and Mission X have reached comparable PP levels. Track day cars like the Zonda R have experienced a similar increase in PP as race cars.
Among tuners at "Other Sport JDMs," track day cars, and all race cars, it seems that PP now is more determined on a car's track performance (Racing Soft Tyre is the tuning part that gave the biggest increase in PP). The higher unlock levels for race cars in GT5 seem more justified in this context, although the PP scale for car types has changed.
Despite the universal increase in race car PP, certain vehicles have experienced significant increases compared to their counterparts. For example, LMP cars have seen their PP rise to a level that now surpasses Group C cars. Additionally, Super GT500 cars from 2008 have enjoyed a substantial increase, now exceeding the PP of the Escudo, CLK, and F1 GTR (which were initially on the higher end of the 840-850 range).
However, this increase does not apply to classic JGTC GT500 cars. Previously, the Supra GT500 '97 was one of the higher GT500 PP cars at 582, surpassing all the GT-R GT500 '08 (577 PP). Now, JGTC cars fall significantly lower, with a range of about 700 compared to Super GT's 800 range. Newer Super GT300 cars have also surpassed the JGTC GT500 vehicles, and in the GT3 category, this is expected, considering the BRZ GT300 has a power output of 478 hp, aligning it more closely with the JGTC GT500 cars.
The PP of the JGTC/Super GT500 cars are now more balanced among all brands, whereas in GT5/6, the NSX tended to be lower compared to the others.
For other classics, the 2J and Group C cars now have lower PPs compared to turbocharged Super GT and DTM cars. The McLaren MP4/4 also has a lower PP compared to the F1500T-A (though it previously had a similar PP to MP4/4) and Super Formula cars. Furthermore, older GT3 cars now have lower PP compared to their newer counterparts (post-2015), with the former sitting at around 710 and the latter reaching 740.
So far, the WRC cars featured in the game are older models, such as the Celica ST205 and the 1998 Impreza, both of which have around 570 PP. It is likely that newer WRC cars, if added to the game later, would also see significantly higher PP, going for the pattern here.
The drift car based on the BRZ has impressive horsepower but has relatively low PP for a race car, sitting at just 627.73.

For racecars, I'm also including all the racecar types' PP in general.
