Car Selection

Yes, the car list rocks. No, not because of Dodge Intrepids! :dunce:

Wouldn't mind seeing the BMW 8 Series or Lotus Elise GT1 and a bunch of others return! 👍

But I think this topic has been more fully fleshed out here, though! :)

What made most of the game of the experience was those P.O.S. kei cars! :sly:

I think one of the best things about GT2 was that so many cars had epic racing mods. Was never much for kei cars but I had (have? I should check...) a Fiat 500 that was modded to the max. including the racing mod. THAT was fun! 👍 Also, even your Intrepid could be turned into a full-out dragster, which was admittedly cool.

But I just enjoyed the variety of cars - I would happily sacrifice all the redundant versions of certain vehicles form the newer GTs in exchange for a broader, more interesting selection.

I catch your drift AMCNUT. Because of PD being Japanese there is more bias among American makers in the newer ones. The good thing about Forza is there is not 50 different Skylines and 5 Corvettes. The interesting variety of normal road cars (i.e. Intrepid, Neon, etc.) and racers (Cultus P.P.D.T., Espace F1) in GT2 makes for a better experience.

Ooooo ya I forgot you could rm cars into beast cars. The pikes peak cars with the pikes peak course was too awesome. The red car was so insanely fast. The small glitches like getting the gt one to be able to lift at a certain speed onto the rear wheels and go warp speed, man those where the good ol days.

Yeah, I should try again sometime to get the Escudo to get all glitchy. I was never able to do it in previous attempts.

But yes, the large number of cars-become-beasts was great. You could take almost anything and turn it into a hard core race-car. I really miss that. I had a large garage full of touring cars that started out as normal production cars. I might still have a few of them - I should check! You just can't do that with GT5, or any other game really.

It has to be a real testament to GT2 that 10 years later there are people who think that the most current games pale in comparison in several aspects! When you think about it, GT2 has withstood the test of time better than most other pieces of software of any type, ever!

Gt2 is still my fav it was probably the best game out at that time for any system and not only had good graphics but something extra that just made you really like it. Gt5 is good, but they need to up there game to make sure there is no arguments as to what the best racing game is just like the old days.

Now that's so true. PD needs to hire more people and get to producing some unique stuff. Its still in them, just not enough people to keep focus.

It was a 60 million budget more than any game ever and we only got 200 premium cars plus took 6 yrs. like seriously wtf that's why so many people are mad. The game is great and seriously does look amazing, but with that much money and time it's not good enough. Especially when Forza is a quarter of that and made a game right in the tails.
