I am looking for a car for the Works Championship. Are all cars capable of winning this after the works conversion? If not, what is the PI to aim for to beat, ahem, 'mad' mike and what is a reasonable car? I would prefer not to use a gumpert, koenigsegg or bugatti etc. if possible.

And on a sidenote: Why are all those rivals acting so annoyingly 'cool'!? So far Tommy Milner and Patrick Soderlund are the only ones who have not been taken from a bad action movie.

I just used the falken porsche that they give you. It's a little lower pi than the rival car, but it was a nice challenge on hard.

As lame as the vid clips are, I find the quotes even worse. They sound like the marketing department decided to target 12 year olds and made up these terrible quotes and signed drivers names to them.

If any of these drivers really said those quotes I feel sorry for their parents. My battle wagon... Wow.

I loved my RX-7 (FC3S) Works. Worked like a charm, really.

And, yeah, you can easily tell the 'real' race drivers from the ones that 'only' participate in Time Attack and stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions. It is good to know that a ~1600 PI car can do the trick.

I am also glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by the rivals :D

Mad Mike's RX-7 is at ~1750PI, if I'm not mistaken, so the Tri-Rotor swapped RX-7 works is close enough, but it's not exactly a walk in the park, especially on the faster tracks. I liked beating him with 'his own car', though

In case you decide to out-muscle him somewhere down the line, you could swithc the LP640 Works or the Galalrdo Works. Both are pretty overkill, but for cars with 2000+PI, they're very forgiving and suprisingly easy to drive.

All racing is is a time attack.

Uhm. No. Want one big difference? in Time Attack, you just need that one, perfect lap. Doesn't matter if everything else is slow, if that lap's the fastest, you've won.
Do one fast lap lap in a 20 lap race and if the remaining 19 laps are slow, you're likely going to end up being last.

Consistency is the difference here. It's not needed as much in Time Attack.

Not that I dislike Time Attack, but it's worlds apart from, say, GT3 or GT1.

Can you swap engines after the works conversion or do you have to do it before?

Hmm, I am not too fond of the 2000+PI cars. But I might consider it if the other cars are not working for me. Thanks.

You'll have to do it before the works conversion, sadly. Luckily, most cars will suffer a PI penalty, probably due to the weight and weight distribution being worse with the bigger engine, but the RX-7 actually improves quite a bit.

Yeah, they are indeed insanely fast, mostly because of the insane amount of power those cars make... I don't really like them either, but the Gallardo is one of the few cars that are actually still quite managable - as well as the 918 Spyder.

I've just been doing this series and I've discovered that - as hateable as it is at stock - I really, really like the SLS at works :)

The lambo is way more forgiving then my gtr spec v which just power slides everywhere

On the topic of 2000+ pi cars. Installed speedhunters dlc today and got a lambo lp640-4 up to over 2600pi!! Amazing for drag racing, quite how itl handle i dont know because you can't do works and drag mods. That would be insane

the Jaguar XKR works is a very good works car.
not the fastest (18xx PI) but its handling is very good.
it hasn't got that ' I need to drift feeling ' of very much works cars.

Thanks! After trying some cars I just did my first race in the 'final' of the championship with the XKR and I really liked it. The car lacks a bit of character but is a good steady drive.

For the other races I used a BMW 135i. The races in this car are so much fun and they look nice in replays with only 135is, Giuliettas and RX-8s (if I'm not mistaken) competing.

Old topic (and game) I know but the rx-8 (pi1200 something) without the engine swap makes you drive against FWD cars mostly so you are over 5s/lap faster then everyone else. you might have some problems in the last "tournament" there so a radical or the speed-hunters evo is a good choice there.

I used a Radical and swept the final tournament but honestly the difficulty regardless of actual driving difficulty you set gets harder as the championship goes on. Catalunya should be a breeze and same for Suzuka, but Autopolis is harder and I found Mount Panorama to be hard even on the easiest setting. I gave myself a pat on the back after managing to run the entire race at night without making contact with anything (very hard to do in the mountain section).

Works Gumpert Apollo 👍 will blast them to pieces :) The Thing is if you pick faster cars like Veyron and Zonda or Apollo + works kit, then final races become a bit harder, competitors drive faster.

And if you pick cars like 911, or GTR class and works kit then it's easier to win. But I've imagine you want to race Hard :sly: 👍
