carbon driveshaft

yesterday... i was reading all texts in tune shop....

the carbon driveshaft make the car lighter and increase the response of the engine (or something like that)

well... as you can see when you install it.. dosent plus hp...
and i did this...
saw the weight in the weight reduction... for example 1300
install the carbon driveshaft and back to the weight reductions and the weight are the same...

so... what this part do?

If the game engine would be perfect, the reduction in weight would show in the overall weight of the car, but it doesn't.

It allows faster acceleration thanks to the lesser inertia of the drive shaft and thus enables the power to be used to accelerate the car instead of turning the heavy steel drive shaft.

in theory, a carbon driveshaft helps reduce the rotating mass in the drivetrain... this results in improved acceleration, engine response, and top speed... i haven't done a search to see if anyone in the GTP forums has tested and noted improvements when adding the part... i tend to buy it for the cars i use in the game just because...

ok... would you please post your results so that lazy people like me don't have to go find out ourselves...? thanks! :D

@ karras85: no offense buddy, but are you planning to open a thread about every detail of the game? GT4 has been out for some time, and 99% of it has been discussed to death already. I really don't want to spoil your fun or anything, but I have been here and in other forums for some time, and I know what this behaviour usually leads to. :nervous:

*ontopic*
I'm not sure if the positive effect of the carbon driveshaft can actually be measured in seconds of quicker acceleration. Theoretically it should, but I don't know if it's enough to notice. I've experienced that it makes the engine rev up and down quicker and more vigorously, improving its behaviour for racing.

the problem is this will take time...
cuz now im at work... now are 14:50 here... im out at 20:00 and i come again on monday...

if you want for any results you have to wait (and i think is too much..)

well the moderators pass and saw this discution... (cuz thei need to see if is something to close or keep open)
and didnt say anithing like "oh... this was discuss before.."

or the moderators havent got memory...
maibe you can show me an older discuss about the wind or the driveshaft...

the moderators have no memory then...:scared:

interceptor... i just wanna make something diferent...

not "what is your favorite....."

💡
now im thinking about the diference betwen the lsd and the ayc....
please tell me if that was discuss before to put in a new thread

to moderators "CLOSE THIS AND THE OTHER THREAD" after interceptor or you ask me this question

now im thinking about the diference betwen the lsd and the ayc....
did you read what the game says about them? It should answer almost all questions.

By the way, I found those threads by searching this forum. And if I can do it, you can, too. Give it a try! :sly:

i found the explination of each one... so i can compare it... :)
i never used the search before... i thought that is to search on web...:guilty:

thanks man... 👍

Although it's great that you notice things like this, I don't think it is necessary to discuss everything that isnt perfect in the game. Its just a game, and there is bound to be bugs and glitches in it. A carbon driveshaft would make things lighter, but saving a kg or 2 isnt something so significant for PD to waste thier time putting that small reduction of wieght in the game. If everything was perfect, then the fuel amount would affect the game, the type of tires and wheels would affect the acceleration and speed, the wieght of a bigger turbocharger and things would all be in there too.

all the time this page are saing wellcome to new users with the same questions...
interceptor show me this discuss was discuss before... and maybe someone discuss that before the other...

if someone add this to the F.A.Q. he will solve this...
cuz im think is a problem to solve...
i didnt read all the F.A.Q. so...
i will start from there...

well..... if you pay (i can remember how much is that drivbeshaft now) it supose to gain some performance...

The carbon driveshaft does affect the performance of the car, and just like the flywheel and stuff, it doesnt increase the hp or lessen the wieght, it does make a difference while driving.

You do gain performance, but not in horsepower. A good engine can not be measured by hp and torque only. If you reduce spinning masses (including the driveshaft), the engines behaviour will improve. That's the point of parts like this.

EDIT: @ PERFECT BALANCE :dopey: 👍

Yes. This also is a good way to get a lot of a-spec points. They depend on weight, hp and tyres. With a carbon driveshaft, you can improve the engine without changing those figures.

@karras85

I'm glad that you have taken on board what 'the Interceptor' has said with regard to searching for info and starting threads.

Yoy will find that a lot of questions have already been asked before and a search will normally find the info you are looking for without the need to start a new thread.

Once you've found the info you need, and you want to ask a question, just post it in the old thread. Here at GTP we would rather you post in an old thread that start a new one on an old subject.

On the subject of starting new threads, the mods here do not check a thread before it is created, but when you click on the button to create a new thread you are asked if you have seached.

The comment about mods having 'no memory' I will take as being due to (I asume) English not being you're first language.

You have also posteded twice in a row in this thread and we would rather you used to edit button to add a comment onto a post, rather than simple adding posts one after the other.

I'm sorry if the above sounds a bit negative, don't worry, you're mistakes are quite common for new members. So please just take them on board and enjoy you're time here at GTP. Now that you have discovered the search tool (thanks to the Interceptor 👍 ) I'm sure you will have so much to read that it will keep you busy for a while.

Edited to add - I have also moved this to the GT4 Car Tuning & Settings forum as its more of a tuning and settings related subject, and I look forward to the test results as well.

i asume i made alot of mistakes....
im a new member... and with this discutions i pass to a junior member...
you r right....
dont worry too...
i was in only one forum (street legal) and was only to show my cars...
so... i didnt learn too much there... only how to show pics...

karras85
you r right....

No problem at all, and as a lot of you're questions are Tuning & Settings related you should find a lot to interest you in this particular forum.
