Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought you can go to the Tuning Parts --> Weight Reduction and purchase a carbon fiber hood (in naked carbon or body paint color) for your car.

I'm pretty sure you can only do that for most premiums, but not standards.

Definitely only on premiums. I think there would be too much of a definition difference between the add-ons and the actual cars they're put onto. There are a couple of standards with black hoods already though, which could be considered as carbon.

You can't equip Standard cars with carbon hoods, however some do come with black hoods.

Yeah, no carbon hoods on standards.

The Sprinter Trueno S.S. comes with a black one. Im not sure if its carbon fiber or not, I havent looked closely

This thread is about adding carbon hoods in GT Auto. Obviously, some standards come with carbon hoods, as was previously stated.

You can't add a carbon hood (bonnet if you're in the UK) to a standard car, as I believe the individual body components aren't separately modelled. Okay, maybe it could've been implemented via mods to the texture map but I don't think that much effort was made when transferring the standard models into GT5. I believe this is also why you can't change wheels on standard cars.

Just in case, I'll say it again, some standards come with carbon hoods already, which isn't the same as equipping them yourself.

On a slightly different note, have you noticed that the clamshell hood on a TT is completely replaced, whereas the R8 just gets a strip, which I personally think looks much better.

Lol they didn't do something easy like a standard set of rims for all garbage looking cars and you really think they were going to make carbon hoods that have to fit an exact shape specific for the car. This is just another one of those things where it should of been in the game. It's not, nothing we can do now.

You can't add carbon bonnets at GT Auto only at tuning and only on premiums.

edit: not even all premiums by the way.
