Hey all I just recently started working as a game tester at sony. Since I'm a fresher my pay is pretty low . As of now I'm planning on staying here for at least 2 years and then try moving on to other major gaming companies. Would this be the right choice? Also i have a degree in mechanical engineering so absolutely no experience whatsoever with coding. Any advice as to how I should plan things out would be much appreciated!

What are you going to do, apart from working there, for the next two years? I would advise to keep educating yourself no matter what, even if it's in a totally different direction.

I had ICT as a study, couldn't find a 'fun' job and ended up at a railway company. I told myself to leave the company within 4 years to find the 'perfect' ICT job. Now 10 years later I couldn't care less about computers and the company gave me the chance to follow a different path (focus on how to get better results with people, more efficient, educate). Never saw myself as someone that connects with people on the floor but here I am

If you have a degree in mechanical engineering then you're better getting in job in, dare I say it, engineering. The intern pay is faaaar better. If you're in India (which I seem to remember you saying you are) try companies like Jacobs and so on. I didn't actually realise that Sony did games testing out there, I thought that was all home-gadgets R&D.
