Career Endorsements

What do they do? I recently scored two gold accolades to unlock the first Endorsement. The next tier I joined my car was running the livery for that Endorsement. Is it simply that? A livery reward? Do i have no choice if so? I want my Team madness livery back!

Or do they increase the number of contracts offered as you gather new ones?. New invitations? Seems like a silly question to ask now I've typed it. But I couldn't find any information on them from the game past "You get them and you kinda want them, because reason unspecified."

I would also be interested in knowing whether or not you have to use an endorsement livery?? That would suck a bit as the in game liveries are really amazing. Has anyone got to this stage of career yet?
