Cars Veering to One Side on Long Straights

I've recently bought GT Sport after years of wanting it. Had it for a few days now. But I've noticed something quite annoying already that I can't seem to figure out. On long straights, like Special Stage for example, my car will not continue on in a straight line. It will very slowly veer left or right, requiring me to have to constantly counter steer to keep it straight. The faster the car, the more pronounced this 'veering' is. In cars like the 2500bhp Tomahawk, it's almost like the car is actively trying to slam into the wall on long straights.
I use a controller, not a wheel and pedals, and have tried multiple controllers so it isn't them.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need to calibrate your controller and/or adjust the "dead zone" of the joystick if possible. Issue may be that the neutral position is too sloppy and is providing some directional input. Dead zone adjustment will allow you to filter that out.

I have already ruled that out as a cause. It's frustrating because it seems to be the game doing it, not me. It does it regardless of whether I'm using a wheel and pedals, or controller. And it can be veering right for an entire 30 lap race, or veering left in a 2 lap race. I can't seem to find any causation.

I've had the issue with two of my controllers. Blew high Pressure air around the sticks. Fixed the problem for one. The other moves slowly to the right at times. Problem hasn't been rectified for a good while.

Try this https://gamepad-tester.com/ to test your controller. You will see if your sticks are drifting.

I have this issue of a drifting stick on one of my PS4 controllers, what is the best way to fix it, I see mention of blowing high pressure air so would this be using likes of a hairdryer etc over the controller sticks?

A can of compressed air/air duster.

I used to take mine apart to clean it from the inside out. It's a bit fiddly but it's the only sure fire way of cleaning the internals properly.
