Cars with lag between gears

Finaly yesterday i got my Lambo Miura. Amazing car with a very solid performance while drifting, except by one detail: 5 gears and a annoying latency (almost a hole) while shifting, in betwen gears. I know that i can use a longer gearbox and change gears less times, but thats not the point. Specialy while tandeming, i like to have a sharper and more responsive torque while trading gears, so ill be able to adapt myself to my partner and not cut my drift.

Also i had the same issue with another cars (i.e. the RX-8 concept and the FT-86 between the 2nd and 3rd gears), and some others that made me pass over and try another cars. But i would like to solve or at least minimize it.

How to solve it?
What parts i should buy?
Is the LSD envolved?
How to set the gearbox manualy to have a better result?

I know this is a hard task, specialy because im talking about a general issue, not a specific car, but i hope to have any valuable tip.

Put accleration higher. That always gets me out of problems.

Medium range turbo is one of the best for small tracks. Low range turbo helps around 4000 rpm and that aint so usefull for drifting. Also dont fully upgrade the engines of cars with high performance. Example : C63 AMG, leave the engine stock and only buy a turbo and other parts if you need it and remove them when you don't. Fully upgraded engine's lags sometimes as well.

Ok, i worked in the Miura in the last hours and i have some news.

This car doesn´t have Turbo or Supercharger option, so i had to work in another possibilities. I decreased the problem working on 2 aspects:

- Working on gears manualy:
The tip for longer gears really works (thanks, Duman079). But worked better after i make the 1st gear as short as possible, then the 2nd and the others longer, trying to stack the diagonal lines in the gear graphic. Maybe then the response to the next gear will be shorter.

- Working on LSD:
Usualy the standard LSD for my cars is 2 ways loose (5/60/60) for high powered cars and 2 ways tight (60/60/60) for low powered cars, and depending my needs ill go decreasing the numbers. After make the gears longer, i had to get more response from the torque, so i decreased my the Miura´s LSD from 5/60/60 to 5/45/30. It was a slight change, but now the car is spreading the right ammount of HP while cornering and the engine-brake is stronger while i reduce the gears.

Im still curious if lower spec parts, specialy about transmission can helps to heal the issue at some cars. Because the top parts arent helping too much so far.

Yes always put the first gear as high as possible and the last lower so you can shift to it if you are loosing control at a long drift ( thanks to TTCH for this ! )

I have your answer, and it's incredibly simple. Let off the gas for a split second whenever you shift. Ta-da! Problem solved.

My Aston Martin and NSX had the same issue, just let off that accelerator during the shift then get right back on it. Enjoy.

the gears that have that "lag" is actually just the gears are too wide, just shorten the gear you are going into and you should be just fine.

Thanks. Now, do you have any SERIOUS tunning tip? Because even my grandma knows that releasing the gas while shifting helps the torque linearity.

Plus, some cars even with this basic manuever doesn´t show a great effect, unless if work on setup first.

Your tip is valuable, but is kinda off-topic and doen´t solve the issue all the time.
