Right now I have the Ferrari F430 steering wheel, which isn't the greatest. No force feedback, no clutch, 200 degrees of steering, flappy paddles only with no stick and not a huge amount of buttons that can be easily pressed. I thought that the Logitech G27 wheel would be great for what I need for now, so I literally just went to Youtube and typed ''g27'' and found this amazing review:

It looks amazing, the only problem is that I'd need a wheel stand. I want to Amazon and found ''The Ultimate Steering Wheel Stand'' which had ''suitable for Logitech'' in the title and had a G27 on the stand in the picture. Great, I'd now have what I want for this thing. And so I found the wheel on here: LINK (Danish) which would cost roughly 215 british pounds compared to the 249 on Amazon. Now, I don't know if I should get the cheaper one, and possibly risk worse service or go with the more expensive one on Amazon which I have trust in.

I have not shopped at Dustin before, nor have I had any ''professional'' racing wheel before, so I do ask some stupid question, I'm sorry. Thanks for any and all help! :) 👍

starting out g27 is good. get it. some people like that stand some don't. An actual rig would obviously be more comfortable and better like obutto ozone, etc... welcome to a expensive hobby!

Yea, in February I'll get some money, and it'll be more than enough for 2 Thurstmaster T500 RSs with a shifter. I just don't want to spend a whole lot of money in the start.

I've also realized right now that I could possible remove the stand and cut the cost down. My question is then, how far in does the stabilizers go in (Towards the wheel) on the underside? I have a laptop and move around a bit, and in one of the places, I play on a thin glass sort of table, and if I could even get it to work there, that'd be awesome!

the clamp opens up probably good 5-6" but will not clamp down all the way to the base leaving about 1" of space between the clamp and the base of the wheel

Oh well, the table I was talking about is probably like 3 millimeters (0.11'') so it wouldn't be able to fit there. I guess I could use my F430 wheel for there.

find something that is thick to lay on top of the table so you can clamp it down.

Thanks for that. didn't think of that. I now just need to find/buy thick enough. Because it'd be very great to cut out 44 pounds of the price.

I have a 2x4 board on top of plywood I use on my diy wheel stand I made to make it thick enough to clamp down on.

The clamps of the G27 will attach to a surface of that thickness. I had no problem mounting my wheel directly to the wheel plate of a playseat. The thickness of this plate is 1/16" or approx. 1.5 mm. I would recommend something to protect a glass table though. Probably a piece of paper under the wheel and some small squares of felt or a similar material for the part of the clamp that will come in contact with the table. Cork would also work well on both sides.

It comes with spacers that let it clamp all the way to the wheel base, if I remember correctly.

I just clamp the G27 and shifter on a computer cart I bought when I had the DFGT. I think it was only 20 bucks. The wheels can be locked so it's firm and the pedals are placed right beneath them. All I needed to do is route the wires, get a sturdy chair and... that's it. When I'm done I reorganize the wires and wheel the cart back to my closet. The table is not the most professional-looking but gets the job done. Plus it has space in front so I can put my keyboard and mouse there. I'm actually thinking about improving it myself since it works so nicely.

OK, thanks! :D I will keep the paper in mind! 👍

The G25/G27´s are good Wheels, not a bad choice. I´d order it thrugh Dustin, if you get any issues you got to contact Logitech support on e-mail and attach the purchase receipt. No worries there :) If you are ok with 2. hand items you might want to keep an eye on DBA - but prices vary alot.

Setup wise, i think a Wheel stand is very well spended Money (when Rig Arent an option). Even driving from the couch a Wheel stand quickly surpasses the usual table setup. Been there, done that. Have no expirience with the stand you linked too, but can deffinitly recomend Wheel Stand Pro, its a fair Price, quality build, stable, good support from WSP and fast delivery.

Well, if I find that the position of the wheel is uncomfortable, then I'll get it. But if I can live without it, I'll gladly do it.

Also, when I get it, maybe I'll do an unboxing video. Just for fun. :P
