Caterham relocating... to the Arrows factory?!

Presumably because it's bigger. I think calling it a 'factory' is a bit of a misdemeanor. It's a large garage and only as out of date as what you put in it.

Yeah but this is where the team will design and build their cars and as far as I'm aware, and I could be wrong about this, the site has been pretty derelict since around 2003.

It's clearly a move closer to Silverstone, like many of the teams (Renault, Red Bull, Force India) do and so on.

Why is it a big deal only for Caterham? You do realise Virgin are also re-locating to Banbury?
What about HRT and their attempts to move properly to Spain?

Moving closer to Silverstone and "Motorsports Valley" where all the parts suppliers are makes sense. It also makes it easier presumably to work with Williams' windtunnel as well as recieve and work on Red Bull's gearbox.
The state of the buildings themselves and their lack of use is almost irrelevant considering Caterham's current base was also dis-used before they moved in and required a fair bit of work to upgrade.

We should really be discussing what the hell HRT are going to do about replacing Colin Kolles' facilities and personnel? Not to mention how they are going to go about getting suppliers and parts in Spain, a place that isn't really rich in its motorsports industry? Being away from the UK and Italy (and Germany I guess), the two main centers of the industry, is going to add extra costs and time constraints.
