Just do suspension and a custom transmission so you can turn up the top speed. The stock top speed is ridiculously low, like 112mph or something.

Only change I made was the FC Tranny and bumped up the speed to like 155. The AI here seem to have low top speed as well, but its easier to just adjust the tranny than play it by that card.

Tune the car. all option except weight reduce parts, HP increase pars and tyres.

i did ir right know top speed some levels higher, i did it on 210. whit TC 7 and ABS 10.

if its not your day you can also cut the first corner. i won easy whit 10 seconds gap

then for me i am done whit it. have atleast all silver. no need to get golds for me.

I like the fact it gave me a lot of money. but i don't like those "events". they should give us real "races". atleast thats what i like.

I did the same thing. Once I reached the last lap, I managed to overtake the final car on the second to last corner.

Tune the car up. Whatever you can put on it, including the stuff from the GT shop like the wing. Like others said, adjust the top speed so you are topping out just at the end of the straight after a full lap. You make up an easy 3 seconds or more per lap just on the last turn/back straight doing this.

I ran just like always, everything "Off" with ABS set to 1. I don't see how people can steer a car with TCS and ABS set real high.

Don't drop your suspension much if at all. Stiff suspension doesn't work with this car, just makes it push. I made that mistake, returned it to default and got gold next turn. It's the only one I've gotten gold on, all others are silver.

As far as driving advice. Slow down. You have to go a lot slower into corners than more modern cars. It took me a long time to adjust. Use the other cars as bumpers in turns if you need to.

1) Tune up your car to whatever you can get away with (including spoilers from the garage).
2) Set your top transmission speed to 260km/h

The trick to this race is to NOT squeal your tires when making a turn, getting good lines on the final two turns, and slipstreaming on the straightaways.

I had a very difficult time with the race, I had to switch to automatic transmission, go to bumper view (I normally do cockpit) and turn on the driving line indicator to win it.

Let me iterate the most important part of the race again... DONT SQUEAL YOUR TIRES, be nice and gentle with the gas pedal after a turn!

What I did was:

Air filter = 425hp
Custom transmission (set to ~162 mph believe)
Entry level suspension
Adjustable differential (all settings turned all the way down) = 5/10/5 **This seemed to help tremendously with balance and power

No assists, manual transmission, just ABS 1

This should allow you to win by a large margin.

ok, I bought the fc gearbox, but how do i use it? where do i set the gears up. I never tuned in GT4, so i have no idea. Thanks for your help

It's kinda hard to describe. In your garage, when you click on a car... beside the button to "switch cars" you have a "tuning" button. click that

Then click on transmission... then in the middle column of the page they have the transmissions you own for that car, there is a little dial on the right hand side of the box for the fc transmission... click that.

Now go to the top speed box and dial that up to 260km/h

Wonderful. Thanks for your help. I have played all the gt series and never tuned a car. Never wanted to. Much obliged to you.

You can also do the tuning right before beginning a race. There is always a driver options button for the driving aids, and then a button to tune the car for that race. I find this more convenient than going to the garage to do tuning.
