Changing Values

Mk's program has a help file covering some things but to change gear ratios you can do this in-game... I've made quite a few cars w\ 1000-just under 5000 hp and have never had a problem running out of "gearing" using the in-game adjusters...

You can increase the gearing well beyond what you will need, often times, you just move the "auto" slider all the way right, then you can move the individual gears sliders towards the left, if they hit their "stops" and you still dont have enough gearing, then you can start lowering the "final" dragging it towards the left, if however, you do that and then move the "auto" slider after this, it will "realign" your gears w\ "smaller" ratios, reducing top speed, you'd just have to drag the "final" back towrds the right and then redo the "auto" individual gears etc, all over again ...

To change the gears outside of this, you do it after exporting the car from MKS, name it and save it, open it then you will scroll down and see your gear ratios listed, you can then enter whatever but thats not guarantee your car will be driveable once you load it in-game if you pick unrealistic values.. I'd stick w\ the in-game adjusters ...

For DF, in the .INI file they are lines
292=
296=

for front and read respectively ..

Just enter whatever values you want to try, alot of people enter something between 1.00 -2.50
Remember that in MKs prog, whatever value you want to acheive, you have to increase it by ONE in order to get the desired value,
if you want

Front DF at 1.00 & Rear at 1.25,
the lines will look like
292=-101
296=-126

The value I often use is like this

292=0
296=0

This results in this being displayed in MK for DF

42949672.95

It doesnt work best for all cars but most I've used it on, worx fine ...

Line 440 is the hp multiplier
line 488 is for shiney paint, it loox best in the garage but on the tracks its a lil too shiney but some cars loox cool on ... to get shiney most enter
line 440=1

(notice in some examples the presence or abscence of signs, like + -
they do make a difference on the effect, experiment ..

Lines
356
360

are for tire grip

line 476 is for travelmeter - miles on your car

the line(s) after that are for the condition of the oil, someone had a code I think that kept it bright green all the time, I hadnt messed w\ many of these lines ...Well, I hope this helps abit 302
