One of the best historic sports cars in the game, this car is crying out for a premium upgrade. I have chosen 1967 because in that year the car competed with a 427 (7 litre) instead of the previous 327 (5.3 litre) engine.
The funny looking box on the back of the car is because FIA regulations stated that a sports car must be capable of holding a certain amount of luggage. On the Ford GT40 it is mounted either side of the exhaust manifolds (headers) where it must be very hot.
When Scrutineers placed their luggage box inside the trunk of a 289 Cobra for the first time, it wouldn't shut so the quick thinking mechanic repeatedly slammed it until the dents were large enough to allow the trunk to close, after which FIA regulation 289 Cobras were fitted with a special ugly boot (trunk) lid for clearance.
