When Rodger Penske announced that he would not be running Camaro's in the 1970 Trans Am season, but rather changing over to AMC, Jim Hall filled the gap and built 3 Chaparral Camaro's. The car ran well, finishing in the top 10 in every race it entered, including four 4th place finishes at the hands of Jim hall himself, and a victory at the hands of Vic Elford at Watkins Glen.
This Camaro is believed to have produced around 475 horsepower and weighed in at 3,375lbs (425lbs less than the stock Camaro) and could demolish the 1/4 mile in just over 10 seconds. Depending on gearing, this Camaro is capable of speeds of up to 200 mph.
It is believed that only one Chaparral Camaro remains, and it would be great to have something completely different added to GranTurismo's lineup of this legendary marque...
