Not sure how their paths crossed with Neill.

Chappie is here to save us from bad haircuts.

Dayum. I'm not a big fan of them, but I've been listening to some songs from their albums for the past weeks and only found out about their connection with Chappie on The Daily Show a few days ago; Sigourney Weaver mentioned them. Now today I look up news about Die Antwoord and find out the movie revolves around them in a significant way.

I know this movie isn't getting the best ratings, but holy hell, Neill Blonkamp (I seriously only misspelled "Neill" after checking the spelling :D) coming up with this? After reading what the movie's "underlying" meaning and story is about, I have to go watch this. I was already interested by the trailers.

Just watched the movie and it was better than I expected.
I'm not a critic though and rarely watch movies.
The music fit pretty well and the gangster actors weren't too annoying. Some moments were awkward, some moments were really tragic, some moments were awesome. Interesting idea. Like a mix of Robocop, Terminator, IRobot and Short Circuit.
The ending was a surprise and it was left opened, so I could imagine my own ending.

Blomkamp redeemed!

Honestly I enjoyed this more than District 9, and I don't understand why the reviews are so harsh. It's like a dark Disney movie.

Reviewers, eh?

I purposefully stay away from them these days - not that I paid too much attention to their ravings beforehand. A thoroughly enjoyable film and every bit as different from my expectations as I...umm, expected

I like that Sharlto Copley has branched out into mo-cap work too, as he has a lot of potential. I also loved the 300 homage scene 👍
