So, I plan on purchasing a wheel (Probably the DFGT) around the time Prologue hits the states, and I was wondering what would be some good options for a cockpit.

I've looked at some of the cockpits Sparco offers, which are nice, but is there anything a little cheaper?

That looks pretty nice. I'll keep it in mind.

That's about the best price you're going to get for a nice cockpit. tell us how much is your budget is so we can get you options for your price range.

The Obutto is a much better deal compared to the Playseat since they are the same price!

$250 is definitely doable for me if that's what it's going to cost to get a decent cockpit.

For sure, I've got one myself. If you search for "Obutto", I'm sure my thread on it will come up. But I recently had a buddy of mine try to order one and they're not responding to emails ATM. I dunno what the deal is, but if you manage to get a hold of them, pick one up.

*edit* And here's a link to the cokpit/wheel forum: Link

I already have one. I did a review for Chris (from Obutto) and your friend was asking me questions (if it is the same person) on another forum. I told him to go to the RaceSimCentral forums but their site has been down for the past week or so. Hopefully your friend can get his hands on one.

I chose the playseat because I can slide it out to the big screen tv in the living room and play on the console (when i get around to upgrading my wheel), then slide it back to the PC room to play their too.
i looked at the obutto and although I agree it is a nicer cockpit it just wasn't flexible enough for multiplatform racing...for me.
Plus it was $217 total from amazon...love that free shipping.

I've try to contact obutto to purchase one of there cockpit, but i haven't had any answer. Maybe they don't want to ship there products in France, but it would be cool to reply when you mail them...

I contacted him some months ago then he was very easy to reach...
Then he went on a vacation for a couple of weeks. Heard from him again he would come back with the shipping costs. Since then hasn´t heard from him probably away again it seems.

I ordered a nixim polecat instead. It´s not a cheap cockpit option though ;).

Otherwise yes if you want to move it around playseat or Rhinoseat would be good choices.

As for wheel... I would buy the old DFP for 50$ rather then the almost identical GT for 150$... the old DFP seem to have a better grip actually. Depends if the internals are upgraded but seeing the pedals is the same I doubt it...

These are not necessarily cheap cockpits. These were constructed by a friend of mine, Jake. He put some time into them. He also purchased some real nice seats for them. We also use tham for LAN racing. Its great fun. Much better than racing the AI, or worst, alone.

Another setup almost ready.

I guess so... That cockpit looked nice just if you can alter the wheel position... I don´t see any slider for that?

What costs is the seat though what seat is it? reclinable is a big plus for sure :)
