what do you mean by "..and wheels?" .

You've got these current options:

Xlerator Wheelstands
BRD Game Frame

For something a bit more 'cockpit' oriented, check out the Hyperdrive
Also in that same 'category' of the Hyper, you have the Virtual Racing Chassis...bit more then the Hyperdrive though!

NOTE: Ash Design once had a game-stand, seen here for sale on their web site, but as of lately, it looks like it's been discountinued! You may want to try and contact them seeing as you're located in the UK as well, to see if they still offer it.

Hope this helps!

you call $240 cheap?
i call < $20 cheap
$20-50 affordable
$50-100 reasonable
$100-200 expensive
$200+ foolish

Hey! I'm just offering more then the standard 'use search' response!
Besides..what's 'cheap' to one is expensive to another! :D

PS: OVER $200 follish? Oh! But spending $150 for a WHEEL ain't nothing right? Please! If you're going to spend that much for a wheel, I'd think one would go a bit higher for sometype of wheel stand/cockpit...don't you agree?

Guess for what I have...I must be crazy then eah? LOL!

well.. my DFP was only $90... i would have never paid > $100 for it. it's just not worth what they were originally charging for it.
(granted my definition of worth is slightly skewed, as i already have a very nice wheel for the pc. so the only reason i have the dfp is gt4)

but I can't call you crazy... since we have the same TV.
(cept your Wega looks like a 36", where mine is 32")

basically my previous list came from the idea that the wheel should cost more than the stand your hooking it to. and when people around here are building really nice full scale race-frames for < $100 it just seems silly to pay ~$500 for a pre-fab.

Hi Guys.

I'm sure you know this: http://www.playseats.com
It's quite expensive in Europe, about 350€ (425USD, 500CAD).

But there's a trick for european people: order it in Canada!
On http://www.gamebuzz.ca the price is about 360CAD with worldwide shipping (250€): you save 100€!

Hey Barry Burton, thats a nice tip!

Ive been looking for somewhere to buy this seat, but ive only found something in norway and germany and they are quite expensive.

I just have 2 questions. Is that the "second version" and do they have it in different colours?

Hehe, know im very tempted to buy this seat :dopey:

Shorten the legs on your mom's kitchen table...mount the DFP to it...sit on the floor with you back against the sofa...and use the sawed off kitchen table legs to prop the pedals at an angle (the pedals seem to be more made for an upright seating position...like if you're sitting at the kitchen table before you cut the legs off).

Alternatively you could put the TV on the kitchen table and use the kitchen as your "cockpit"...with proper positioning relative to the fridge you could have the greatest cockpit ever.

You could go to yard sales and find a cheap coffee table to mount the wheel to...although with a low seating position the angle of the DFP mount would be awkward.

If you play while sitting on your bed you could get a "breakfast-in-bed" tray and maybe somehow mount it to that...the pedals might be a little diffficult to "mount" so they don't move and are at the right angle.

With a little lumber you could build something like the "breakfast-in-bed" tray....think about angling the mounting area so the steering wheel itself is perpedicular to the floor.

You could gut the real steering wheel and pedals out of the family car, replace them with the DFP components, set the TV on the hood. You might need a dc to ac power converter to use the auxiliary power supply (cigarette lighter) as a power source.

If you need something "mobile" to play at a friends house the smaller the better. Although the DFP isn't really "mobile" even all by itself.

Shall I go on...and on...

It is important to make sure the DFP and pedals are well secured...during the game play the DFP can take a thrashing...once upon a time I had my DFP mounted to a computer keyboard tray but there was a little too much movement so I mounted my custom angled keyboard tray thingy attachment to a 2x4 and then mounted the 2x4 beneath the piece of countertop in my "cockpit"...work much better now....I also screw attached my pedals to my angle mounted "block"....they were sliding around too much....don't under estimate the force / stress you put on the DFP while using it.

All depends on you definition of "cheap", what your resources are and how creative you are...

I asked Gamebuzz which one they have, it's the "Solberg Edition" version.
I'm very tempted to order it too, but my girlfriend is not... :indiff:
I wish I had a big flat with a dedicated gameroom... :dopey:

And to match the topic, here is my cheap one:

-Seat: from a Toyota Celica, 30€ in a car junk
-Wood, brackets and tools: 30€
-Work time: 3 hours

I trashed it a few weeks ago, because of the lack of place...
