Cheapest place to buy a G25 in the UK?

I recently borrowed a wheel off my friend which he claimed was a g25. Generous that this was and also obviously appreciative of this, it isn't actually a g25, instead in is a Logitech 'formula' wheel , or something similar.

Now I have never had a wheel before but I find it almost impossible to drive with. It is far too responsive and does the opposite of what I was expecting (lowering my time through smoothness).

From the feedback and discussion on here I know that the g25 is the real deal. I was gonna buy one a few months back when play.com had it for £99.99, but I didn't.

I've tried some googling but mostly found sites that are out of stock, or much, much more expensive.

Anyone have any ideas on where to look for a g25?

For the record as well, my current times are (with sixasis):

Tuned: 1.37.788
Stock: 1.50.385
Total:3.28.173

Mental to think some guys are 5 secs faster combined....

196th in the UK...... i'm getting smoked!!

Cheers.

Colic means G27. Which is what i would suggest getting. It's a better, newer wheel. That or maybe the Fanatec turbo s or gt3rs, both i hear are damn good wheels, however the gt3rs is not fully compatible with GT5 i don't believe

Oops amended my original post, I have the G25 and had it for a year and it is the best gaming accessory I have ever owned. I bought it mainly for PC racers but works great in GT5 as well.

The feedback does need to be improved in GT5 in my opinion as it does feel so much better in games like LFS on the PC.

As for the G27 you would be better off getting that, I have used my friends and it does have a couple of extra features that are pretty cool.

However I dont think I could justify getting a G27 to replace my G25 as at the end of the day the do feel exactly the same.

Hope this is helpful.

I got my G25 a month ago. Best peripheral I have ever purchased - couldnt recommend it more. Play.com was cheapest I found at the time.

G27 has additional buttons on wheel and a shift light. Also i think there is feedback in the gearstick which there is not on G25 but as I say couldnt recommend the G25 more if you dont want to fork out the additional cash for a G27

£436 on play.com?! Funny. It was £99 a few months back.

Because I have faffed around I wont get one until at least after xmas now with postage...

One more thing, how comfortable is the G25 WITHOUT a race seat? I mean, can you just stick it on a desk and it will be ok?

You can attach it to anything up to 30-40 mm thick (sorry not sure of actual size just stating from memory)

Cant comment on comfort without race seat as I built a set up with race seat especially

You could always get it cheaper by doing what I done - I won 1st prize in the pub (£50) fancy dress competition for dressing as Amy Winehouse lol which meant I only had to stump up another £50 to get it :)

I was going to buy it there, i turned away when it rose above £130.

It's simply supply and demand. The part i don't understand is where the G25 becomes more expensive than the G27 and the similarly priced Fanatec wheel. Why would there be any demand for a >£300 G25?

^ Because the world will always be full of folks with more dollars than sense. I can't really say anything, though. What I'm doing with my car puts me in that group by most people's accounts. :embarrassed:

I'm 70th in UK last time I checked and I use a desk and an office chair

Gears normally on left but not using stick shift and meant wheel wouldn't sit central to tv, which is probably important when I wanna make top 20...

I wouldnt hold out too long for a 'cheaper' price as they will run out of stock and will not get them in again which means you will have to stump over £200 for the G27.
