Chelsea TV and www.chelseafc.com can exclusively reveal the following statement:

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm that Luiz Felipe Scolari will be the club's new manager from July 1, 2008.

Felipe has great qualities. He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level, he gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice.

Out of respect for his current role as Head Coach of the Portuguese national team, and to ensure minimum disruption to this work, there will be no further comment from Chelsea FC nor from Felipe about his new role until his employment with us commences.

He isn't that great though, he's good, no doubt about that, but he hasn't done wonders for Portugal. He won the world cup with a fantastic Brazil squad that included players like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho back when they were fantastic. What I'd be asking is "is he better than who we've had?" Is he better than Mourinho, or Grant who as uncharismeristic as he was, actually did a hell of a lot better than pretty much everyone outside the club expected him to do. I don't think he is actually better.

He won’t last long in Chelsea, that I am almost sure.
Well thats one thing, but to live up to Mourinho's managerial career is another! I'm sure I'll be looking forward to see how he plays his tactics and bring out more Portuguese players on the line up (more specifically, Bosingwa and Paulo Ferreira playing. 👍) and how the newer players cope with his tactics. Yeah, its gonna be interesting alright. :D

Kaka, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Deco are all going to chelsea it's totally confirmed. Also every time chelsea score a goal Samba De Janeiro will play.

I have to be optimistic damnit.

But seriously I wouldnt mind Deco if lampard leaves and as long as he convinces Super Ricardo Carvalho (SRC) to stay that's even better.

He does have a decent club pedigiry in south america and the teams he manages usualy play entertaining football so thats enough for me anyway.

If he has any sense he'll do his best to convince Carvalho to stay, he's superb and your best defender. Deco can replace Lampard, Lapards not that great imo he just fits into Chelseas system very well. What Lampard does do is he gambles on almost everything, that's why he's always there to pick up a lucky deflection or botched pass in or infront of the box.

He'll do well, don't get me wrong, but don't expect to suddenly be a massively better team than you already are.

I think it is funny that almost everywhere that Mourinho goes, so goes Ricardo Carvalho. Mourinho on Porto FC (Ricardo Carvalho was playing there). Mourinho moves to Chelsea and brings Ricardo Carvalho (and some other players with him). Mourinho goes to Inter, and he wants Ricardo Carvalho again.

Well, Scolari is not bad, he is goes, but I don’t like him very much. He is a bit Close minded when it comes too players. Let’s say (for example): Drogba is out of shape (just an example), but mister Scolari likes and goes well with player, but he is out of shape and doesn’t do nothing in the field. He will put Drogba playing, even though he is out of shape, he will continually insist on putting that player. That’s what happened with Portugal when he was training our players. And it could be seen, he was always putting Ricardo has the Goal Keeper, even though we had a lot better goal keeper (Quim) (and when I mean allot, I mean a lot, by a big margin). Is that and when he scores the first goal, he starts to Defend real hard, instead of looking to the second goal and try to maintain.

Those are his biggest problems.

And Chelsea have just signed Deco ...

Well, that's probably Scolari's hand then, didn't Portugal loose every game after Scolari announced?

Btw, nice sig Daan, i like Mr Miller, great "evolution Summercamp by Howard Hughes Medical Centre" he did, nothing new on evolution standpoint but ofcource Ken was involved in the Dover trial, and he made sure that the young students in his summercamp knew too. They sure know the difference between science and ID now ;)

Where do you pick up your prize?!

I just knew. Scolari tactics and mind wouldn’t get along with English football, even less Chelsea. An inferior team, maybe, or even a national team, but not major English teams.

Now, can I have my cookie? :P

Even though I don't like Chelsea, I'm eager to see what Hiddink can do with a club.

He led PSV to the Champions Le...ahem, pardon me European Cup title in 1987-88.

then again, when you have Ronald Koeman On your team, you can put 10 scrubs on and still win.:sly:
