How would you like it if you could choose your own era?
Here's how it goes. You have every major car company that made cars in the current decade, with all the latest models of all of the cars made this decade. All vehicles are base, but are upgradable to performance, tuner and racing editions. Concept cars have a separate area.
Every song that ever made the Top 100 since 2000 is playing. The best of the current decade's music is the default soundtrack, though you can switch it to various styles of music including rock, metal and hip hop.
Say you'd like to have sixties cars. Simply go Home, chose from the menu "decades", and select "60s". Instantly, everything will change from modern to groovy, and the music will be all the Top 100 hits of the sixties. The same applies to every other decade. Also, you would be able to choose from various styles of the time. For the sixties, your alternatives would be British Invasion, Motown, Folk, Surf Rock, etc.
Say you go to GM afterwards. Notice that Saturn has disappeared. Saturn is only available in the 90s and the present. If you check Chevy, you'll notice the Camaro, El Camino, Impala, etc are in their sixties forms. They are upgradable to SS (RS & Z28 for the Camaro), some to Yenko and Copo, and also can come in racing editions like NASCAR and Trans Am.
The lineups for each company, regardless of decade, will be at least ten different cars per brand. Concept Cars will be limited to no more than five per marque per decade. Tuner editions will be limited to three per car. Racing editions one. Performance editions will be all that were produced in the factory only.
In conclusion, I believe that you should be able to choose your own decade and have the game coordinate to that decade with lots of cars from each company from that decade. Even the music would coordinate. At least ten cars per major brand, no more than five concept cars per brand. No more than three tuner editions and no more than one racing edition per car. This will make Gran Turismo more interesting and fun.
