speedster502: It is time to welcome a GT4 Photomode oldie! A person whos gallery has existed since 2005! His gallery has had 3118 replies with over 100 updates. He has been, an inspiration to almost us all, his Photoshop skills are undisputed! Of course, it is none other than TVR&FF!
TVR&FF please can you tell us a bit about you?
TVR&FF: My real name is Jamie Wynder, and I was born in England on the 8th of October 1986. In addition to this bit of info I am the youngest in the Wynder family aged 21, with the 2nd youngest being my Brother Lee, who is 27.
speedster502: So what other hobbies do you have other than gaming.
TVR&FF: I have plenty, and those are:
*Walking a lot of miles
*Running
*Football
*Drawing
*Photography
*Computers
*Cars
*Fitness
speedster502: I love walking, because it gets you out seeing places you would never usually see. Anyway, how were you first introduced to the world of GTP?
TVR&FF: I was searching Google once to check up on any other news related to GT4 and that is where I found GTPlanet.
speedster502: Can you give a brief history of your time at GTP? Such as when you set up your gallery and any other things you see as being important
TVR&FF: I first started visiting or creating topics related to GT4 or car photography in 2003, after doing this I started visiting other sub-forums on GTPlanet, which I reckon many people should do if they are yet to do it.
Related to the Gallery part of this question:
I started my gallery in September 2005.
Related to the important part:
TVR&FF:
*Reaching 2 years in my gallery (GT4)
*Having two Photomode galleries active
Other then that I cannot think of anything more
speedster502: Anyway, let us move on. Your first question from the members of GTP is from the copo kid:
What do you strive for in GT4 Photomode?
TVR&FF: Right this could take a bit of time.
speedster502: Probably *Laughs*
*TVR&FF, hits his head against the desk*
speedster502: This could be the longest answer to a question in history.
TVR&FF: The reason I am taking a while to think is I want to try and not to make a fool of myself.
TVR&FF: Copo kid really has me against the ropes.
speedster502: Congratulations Copo Kid, you have created a question TVR&FF cannot answer!
TVR&FF: Why did you have to be so cruel Copo Kid *TVR&FF then laughs*
speedster502: Do you want to ask the audience?
TVR&FF: I can come up with something, so all I have to say is no.
speedster502: Have you come up with an answer yet?
TVR&FF: I try to combine or do the following:
Perspective
Mood The mood part can be seen in some of the skies from my Xbox 360 Photomode gallery.
Compose
speedster502: Thought so, anyway the next question comes from NTX1982 (Nuno), a question you have said to be keen to answer:
What is your favourite game to take shots, and why of course (GT4, TDU, Forza, PGR3/4)?
TVR&FF: I thought Copo Kids was hard, but this is another kettle of fish
speedster502: I do not tend to put fish in a kettle
TVR&FF: It is a saying
speedster502: I know, I may be young but I am not stupid.
TVR&FF: I do not mean it like that speedster
speedster502: I know I'm joking.
TVR&FF: You really like catching people out
speedster502: Yup
TVR&FF: Anyway moving onto the question:
I love all the games, which I have used for there Photomode along with there game play, including TT, which I rented out a long time ago.
But when talking about each game in full, I would like to point out each one has there own strengths and weaknesses
Final thoughts to the strengths and weaknesses point:
GT4 - Does not look better then TDU, FM2, PGR3 or PGR4 is offers far more in the range of cars and locations.
TDU - TDU has a great big island, however its biggest let down is not getting up the upload server (1 year late) for Photomode shots.
The main reason being Microsoft
PGR3 - PGR3 offers cone capture, which is good for open roam shots, when you are not online. But offers some cars, which did not make it to PGR4.
PGR4 PGR4 offers so much in terms of graphics and weather effects
FM2 - FM2 offers a great range of cars to the options to add custom paint jobs to add on body parts.
speedster502: Talking about PGR4 I hear that you and Moglet are doing meet ups on PGR4 and so far look as though some stunning work has come out of it?
I have been meeting up with people from GTPlanet on games with a Photomode since PGR3, which has seen people like Dave A, GJB, Camaro Boy, and Duck joining into PGR3 photoshoots.
However, since more UK and EU GTP people are getting Xbox 360's, I think I will have more luck getting better Photomode shots via FM2 and PGR4. Which includes the photo shoot with Moglet, I must say it was a lot of a fun and had some funny moments.
speedster502: What is the most fun out of the five to drive on?
The most fun is between GT4 and FM2 for me. Because both are, more simulation based.
speedster502: Do you believe GT5 will out do Forza 2 and PGR4?
TVR&FF: PGR4 is not in the same league as FM2 and GT5 in terms of simulation. Therefore, PGR4 has to face other arcade racers, which is beats.
Final thoughts related to this question:
I reckon GT5 will beat Forza Motorsport 2, and the reason I say this is the professional mode in the full Japan version of GT5: Prologue feels more real to me.
While looking better and has far more potential to exceed FM2 in many places.
speedster502:Do you have any motoring history? Or do you use public transport?
TVR&FF: I am not in the right type of job to be paying for automotive type stuff, because of the costs now. However, since I love walking a lot, I use public transport.
However I want to start driving in the near future, but in the past I have been looking at the costs of past used TVR's.
speedster502: So, what is your favourite automotive motoring show you have ever been too?
TVR&FF: My favourite show I have been too is Goodwood Festival of Speed for 3 years in a row, since 2005 to 2007. In addition, I plan to go to it in 2008.
speedster502: I really want to go to that someday.
Which I started going to in 2005
speedster502: So what is your favourite real life car?
TVR&FF: My favourite of all time is the TVR Griffith 500, because of the sound being in my view one of the best V8 sound tracks in my top 10 favourite engine notes.
speedster502: I agree with your point about the TVR, that engine is gorgeous!
Anyway Time for another question from ceiling fan! What was the first racing game you played? Which is your favourite?
TVR&FF: Since I started gaming when I was three or four, my first was:
Outrun (Commodore 64)
The next was Formula One Grand Prix (Geoff Crammond) on the old Amiga 1200, and that was followed by Jaguar XJ220 game on the Amiga 1200 next.
speedster502: It is a time for the next question from Beerzgood, who is a brilliant photographer from GT4 who has improved massively within the recent months. What's your standard process of working GT4 shots, as in what steps (filters, gradients, tools...) do you take and in which order?
TVR&FF: Yet another nice question, anyway about Beerzgoods question:
I use a mix of processes, which makes hard to keep track of each bit of image history for me, however I use the following through or with photoshop:
Blur
Dodge
Burn
Smudge
Motion and Radical Blurs At times
HDTV For any final checks at times
MX510 mouse Replacing with a graphics tablet sometime
speedster502: What size is your LCD TV?
TVR&FF: My HDTV I use at times with my PC is a 26inch, which will become my next PC monitor, as soon as I get another HDTV.
speedster502: Mines been upgraded to a 37' LCD HD yesterday, anyway it is now that time for the last main question, which from SkylineGoes:
If you could choose, just one shot from the many shots, which you have taken which one would you say is the best and why?
TVR&FF: This question will take a bit of time to look into, since I have done plenty of updates.
speedster502: If there were a timer, it would be up by now.
TVR&FF: My best GT4 photomode shot would have to be this: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2821026&postcount=3075
Mainly because it is the closest, I have come to winning a photomode competition, which alexwrc beat me in.
Bonus questions
PC or Mac?
PC, mainly because I have been with them after I moved away from the Amiga.
What Photo editing program do you use mainly?
TVR&FF: I use Photoshop 7 most of the time, but I will most likely fully uninstall and transfer completely to CS2 sometime.
What is your Favourite type of engine?
TVR&FF: My favourite is the TVR Straight-6 (Speed Six). However if I was allowed to also mention these my second and third favourite ones are the following:
Joint second TVR V8 mainly in the Griffith and the TVR V12 from the Cerbera Speed 12.
Joint third V8 from the current V8 Vantage and the F430 V8
speedster502: Tommi2000 look no Audi engines in there.
When GT5 comes out, what will you be mainly working on for the first year of GT5, either GT4 or GT5 for Photomode?
TVR&FF: I will be using GT4 and GT5, mainly because I still like a challenge from GT4. However, I hope GT5: Prologue will have Photomode added to it this month or next month.
Who, out of these two people would you like to do a Photomode gallery Ken Kutaragi or Kazunori Yamauchi?
TVR&FF: I would say Ken Kutaragi, because he is the father of the PlayStation, mainly because of this he must know of ways to get extra juice out of the Photomode.
If you could improve GT4 Photomode, what would you do in the game, and how do you hope GT5 will take Photomode to the next stage?
TVR&FF: If I could improve GT4's photomode I would say, allow a free roam camera as well as more uncompressed photomode shots in Raw or BMP.
About the GT5 part of this question:
The way I hope the photomode will improve in GT5, is to allow a free roam camera, allow multi cars in phototravel as well as better blurs when a car is moving.
If you had some wise words to say to people how they can improve there shots, in five words, what would it be?
TVR&FF: Do not rush your shots
speedster502: Right then two extra bonus questions from me
Do you think that the GT4 Photomode scene is dying? If so, is there anyway we can stop this happening?
TVR&FF: It is kind of dying, but one thing, which has a bit of an affect, was there were too many competitions I reckon, which stopped people visiting other peoples galleries.
Other then this I would also say the main part of the photomode forum the galleries got hit big time from not many people visiting it on a daily basis anymore. However, a way people could keep the community alive is to do the following
*Hope people who left return or try to put your thoughts out there in some form of topics
*If someone visits your gallery you should visit there gallery, because remember the best way for anyone to improve is if they get feedback.
What do you prefer, Top Gear or Fifth Gear?
TVR&FF: Top Gear since it is the most original (Been on way longer then Fifth Gear)
Other reasons, why I pick Top Gear:
*The best
*Most funny
*Knowing what people want to know or watch.
speedster502: So how do you think this interview went?
TVR&FF: You did me proud speedster502, other then that it went great.
speedster502: Thanks *Blushes*
TVR&FF: If I ever stop doing the interviews I know who to hand the role over too.
speedster502: I enjoyed doing too! I hope some time you could possibly arrange to interview me
TVR&FF: That is only if the community picks you, other then that I would just like to do something extra before you wrap this interview up.
*TVR&FF, stands up and says the following*
TVR&FF: Speedster stepped up to the plate today had the bottle and I enjoyed him interviewing me. Other then that I would also like to mention it feels different being in the other seat.
speedster502: I bet it does
TVR&FF: Want to say anything to the crowd
speedster502: Thanks for letting me interview this great man! He certainly is one very busy character.
TVR&FF: I like being busy since it is like a challenge. Anyway, before I shake Speedsters hand I would like to mention I will be back on the other side soon, interviewing Sejtur
speedster502: Yep do not forget to tune in for that
TVR&FF: I would like to mention another thing, which is I hope I will not have to wait too long, before I can interview speedster.
speedster502: Yep, anyway on that bombshell, all I would like to say is good night!
*TVR&FF shakes speedsters hand*
*Speedster shakes TVR&FF's hand*
TVR&FF: Bye folks until then I catch you next time
speedster502: Also from me Goodnight folks
