First of all, heres my set-up. It has a bunch of throttle oversteer, which is the subject of my question. Anyway, these settings got a laptime of 1'13.647 at Midfield.

Suspension
-Spring Rate: 15.5 / 15.2
-Ride Height: 109 / 109
-Bound: 7 / 7
-Rebound: 8 / 8
-Camber: 1.6 / 1.6
-Toe: 0 / -2
-Stabilizers: 3 / 3

LSD
-Initial: 10
-Acceleration: 40
-Deceleration: 20

Downforce
Amount: 25 / 30

Driving Aids
-ASM Oversteer: 0
-ASM Understeer: 0
-TCS: 3

Brake Controller
-Brakes: 4 / 4

Transmission
Autoset 15

Ballast
-Weight: 0
-Location:0

------------------------------------------------------

Now, on to my question.

How do you cure throttle oversteer without using ballast, ASM, or extreme settings (ie 17.0 / 1.0 spring rates, 1 / 10 bound, etc)? I've tried the highest LSD initial and acceleration, as well with 0 / 30 downforce, but that didn't help one bit.

Thanks,

Im playing around with this car some. I like to use S3 on all my cars. keeps it kind of in a street class tire. Try S2 on front and S3 on rear. This will let the car push some. Car still turns in good but lets the car push mid corner. with the car doing a mini 4 wheel drift. this lets you get on the gas sooner coming out of the turns. this may be a hard technic at first. Of cource Im running no asm or no tc also. I manage a 7.59:*** around the ring with a stock car and this tire setup and a fresh oil change.

Sorry for responding....but you asked so I.... well gave a small suggestion.

What kind of power is your 300C putting out? I ran a 1'18.xxx at midfield with my oil change only (as far as engine mods) 300C. I had a FC suspension, FC LSD, and FC transmission as my other mods. It drifts real nice at stock or a little above stock power levels. I put the supercharger on it and it just got all crazy.

I tried your settings with the supercharger on, and found the springs to be a few notches too stiff. The ride height could be a little lower (always as low as the track and springs/shocks will allow without scraping). I also set the front bound up one click, and back bound down one click. Your stabilizer settings do not match your springs settings. They should almost always reflect each other. I also had the rear camber at 2.2, leaving the front at 1.6 in an attempt to give the back a little more grip.

I had the front brakes at 5 and the rears at 3 due to this being a very heavy front engined vehicle.

I smell next weeks tunning comp!:D

Try taking some power out of it
*Points to post date*

Guys, this was more than a year ago. :D

*Displaimer* Like 98NeonACR, I runs my cars on Sport tires. I'm not sure what you run Duck, but my specific recommendations are more in line with those tires.

I was thinking the springs are a bit on the stiff side. Depending on the weight of the car(stock weight??), the front rates might be okay. Try reducing the rear a bit, say to 13.5 kg/mm.

I'd mess with your dampers a bit, too. Maybe they're a bit strong. The rear bound might be too high, and not allow for enough weight shift to the rear when you apply power at corner exit. The high rebound might be making the car respond strongly to bumps.
Personally, when I'd land from the crest of the Flugplatz section on the 'Ring, high rebound settings always made my cars bounce back up into the air. Lower settings all around cured this, and made the cars feel more planted elsewhere. I don't have an exact recommendation, but just try Bound: 4/4 and Rebound 5/5, and see how that works. It might at least give you an idea of what to do.

Another thing I noticed is that you have rear toe set at -2. Just out of curiosity, why did you do that? Was the car understeering a lot? Try setting rear toe to positive 1 or 2, which I beleive is a 'toe out' stance, with the wheels pointing in toward the center of the car. That will make it harder for the rear to change direction on its own and more likely to just follow the front end wherever it goes.
I had an NSX-R that oversteered no matter what I did. There was threshold braking oversteer, lift-off oversteer, power oversteer, you name it. I tried more rear downforce, lower rear spring rates for weight transfer, more/less camber, different LSD settings, and nothing seemed to work. I ended up trying the toe settings, and just +1 degree fixed the car!

Lastly, does the car roll through the turns a lot? If so, add some rear camber, maybe up to -2.0 degrees. If you don't want it to roll, increase your stabilizers and then decrease your camber to match. I usually put stabilizers on 7/7, then camber at a minimum. It keeps the car stiff 'n flat, and since the car doesn't roll to use negative camber, i typically use only -1 degree or less up front, and zero at the rear.

Anyway, let us know how things go for you. I'm sure lots of people appreciate your settings depot. Good to see that you're sticking with it.

Edit: Doggone it! Stinkin' post date.

Well, I'm planning to move to Colorado by Christmas, so I probably won't create anymore settings for the rest of the year, since my cockpit will be in storage. However, I plan on downloading a game save to my ARMAX drive so I can have all the cars. So, prepare to see some oddball cars. :dopey:

With the post date, however, it just goes to show you the power of linking to a thread from a stickied one. 800~ posts without a reply!

Sorry for replying to the post. I was not aware it was going to put it on the main page. I was tooling around with this car and was looking for a good setup to start with. but now im on the right track thanks to all your comment.
