Top Gear published an article on this in September, so it's not smoking hot. But I couldn't find a thread for it, so here it is: the Citroën Tubik!

Anyone see any similarities with the GT by Citroën? :)

I think it's cool, not because it's the most beautiful minivan there is, but because pretty much all the lines from the GT by Citroën are there, only more or less distorted.

(still, it looks a bit like a pig in a sweater, doesn't it?)

Edit: Rollerskating pig in a sweater

What do you think?

More info on the car here: http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/citroen-tubik-concept-frankfurt-motor-show-2011-09-05

What is the aero like? I was a huge fan of the MB box fish van

 WHAT THE HELL? Seriously that's made me open my eyes....

Why no images of the rear? Nobody could be bothered to render it? I actually like the front though, I'd love something like this if I were running a business. It would certainly draw a lot of attention to your company!

I love it. Remove those weird chrome bits on the side and it'd look even better 👍

Thanks for the photos BTW.

Quite unique design. It looks very strange but it always catches my eye when I looked at the pics.

I love it to be honest. I think I've yet to see any other manufacturer putting so many funky lines in their designs. I'm digging it 👍

Ick! :yuck: I know it's a Citroen, but still... it's improperly proportioned - way too tall, and too much swapping between square and round design themes. Not enough uniformity throughout the design. I don't like the grill. And it looks pretty small on the inside, and not practical for most of the stuff that people buy vans for. The interior is WAY too spacey for the taste of most people who would buy a van. Remember the last Nissan Quest? And what's with the funny windows?

Different, but a wasted effort in my opinion...

It's a van.

It's a concept car.

It's a van.

I know, but even as a van it's still funny-looking. The length/height ratio is off in my eyes. I needs to be about a foot longer, I think.

It's a concept car.

Concept minivan? Either way you slice it it's an odd segment to try and spice up, considering the nature of the beast and the likely needs of those who have to buy them.

I wish all minivans looked like that. Its cool and different from the boring, horrible looking minivans of nowadays.

The one it takes inspiration from was also very weird, and as cool as this new one:

Heritage right there. I freaking love this.

It kind of reminds me of the GM Futureliners from the 50's. Can't post a pic of those beasts though since I'm on my iPod.

This sort of thing has been happening in Europe for years. The commercial vehicle market is much wider than it is on the other side of the Atlantic, and there are many more different classes of van, from ones based on subcompacts to ones far bigger than the average Econoline, plus chassis vans and box vans similar to what you get over there.

Carmakers have to work equally hard to make an impact in the van market as they do in the car market.

All Citroen is doing is throwing a bit of the DS line and a bit of retro at a concept to show what's possible with that class of vehicle. It's highly, highly unlikely to go into production.

Kill it! Kill it with fire!

I'd actually like to live on the inside. Looks nice. Better living in there rather than in your home so you don't have to look at it when you head to work.

Imagine the chromed part is peach coloured. Now imagine the white part is a dark purple. Now imagine Elton John driving it.

I'm married with two kids. I don't do that sort of thing any more.

See? Wasn´t that hard to admit, right?

Still looks fugly btw. Only the front view looks good.
