Classic Car Challenge

Vehicle
Your vehicle is limited to pre-1971 cars, that means nothing made in 1971 or later.
1949 - 1970
You may aquire the vehicle one of two ways, win it from another race or buy it, if you purchase your car, some of the older cars can be quite expensive in a modern perspective.

Upgrading
Your budget to spend upgrading on parts any way you like 16,000 CR except for a transmission but including tires. Transmissions will be considered part of the car aquistion cost to make more cars competitive. You may not use port polishes, engine balancing, displacement UP. You may do a first stage weight reduction if you desire. Once you spend your budget, tune the car to suit you and your desire to win.
The following list are the minimums and maximums you can have in any category.

Racing
Now the important part, you need to race this thing. There are basically 4event types available within the game and they are in order of the challenge:

Ranking Order of Challenge
1) Family Cups (Set at 0 to -4 depending on how new a set of cars you wish to face.)
2) Classic Car Events (Professional, USA, or European Halls)*#
3) One Make Races (Many scattered over the various manufacturers)*
4) 1000 Miles (European Hall)#

* These two categories vary depending on race grids, limits of allowed cars and other factors.
They could be the same rank or reversed in difficulty.
# If you see a Buick Special '62 or a AC/Cars 427 or a Shelby Cobra 427, your toast most likely.

Beer Hall
Well now that you have raced your creation its time to talk about it over a few cold ones. Posting any times and things like that are meaningless so it is down to just the joy of driving or a challanging race event you faced in a brief description or a narative if you like.

I took a Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) '68, my parts came in under 12,000 CR.

The grid was a fun one including:
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA '65
Lotus Elan S1 '62
Ginetta G4 '64
Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto '66
Nissan Skyline 1500 Deluxe (S50D-1) '63

It was a fun race, with me behind most of the first lap. I didn't gain to much on the long uphill, but made up for it on the twists and turns of the downhill side. The second lap I was in second place behind the Ginetta G4 going into the chicane down by the bay when the Ginetta blew the corner and plowed into the wall. I thought I had it won right there, but the Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint GTA came charging on and passed. We dueled till the final turn for the finish where I out accellerated him for the win.

I took a Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto '66, my parts came in under 11,000 CR.

The grid was a fun one including:
Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA '65
Nissan SILVIA (CSP311) '65
Honda S800 '66
Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto '66
Nissan SKYLINE Sport Coupe (BLRA-3) '62

This was an awesome grid for this race, with me behind most of the first quarter of the track. I eventually passed the pack after some challenges by the other Spider Duetto to gain on the Giulia Sprint GTA. For the rest of the race the GTA and I dueled with him in the lead most of the time, we did change positions briefly in some of the curves before the long straight. Once we came down onto the long straight I made my move while drafting and passed the GTA. Holding the gas down for all it was worth I got up to 120 mph, from there I was able to hold and maintain control for the final curves before the finish for the win. This track is enjoyable with small cars that don't usually go over 100 mph.

This has been opened up a little, to include up to 1970 model cars, (I wanted the Mini Marcos). The purchase price limit was removed, you could win cars that exceeded so now you can buy cars that exceed it as well. The upgrade budget has been increased to 16,000 CR.

New rule addendum, transmissions will now be considered part of the car aquisition costs and not tracked instead of the upgrade budget which is tracked. This will allow more cars to be competitive but close tranmissions are not a good choice for all cars, some have decent stock transmissions.

After getting abused several times by the AC Cars 427 I decided to bring his bane to the fight, but the first time I tried a track he didn't show so I went to Côte ďAzur and there I found my pigeon. The starting grid put the Vette in position one and the 427 in position two with me in sixth. Which is very hard to win from behind even with a similar power curve to the 427. After the start it took most of the first half of lap one to pass everyone by Portier curve except the Vette. The 427 by this time was comfortably in front, but by the Nouvelle Chicane I had passed the Vette and was gaining on the 427. It wasn't until the Beau Rivage hill that I closed enough to pass to him, at the top of the hill near the Casino I got past the 427 and lead from there to the finish. Take that Mr. 427.
