Who would like to see classic GP cars in GT5?

I certainly would because I think they'd make a great addition. A few Bugattis, Ferrari Sharknoses, BRMs and W196s would be awesome.

Imagine the racing you could have!

Definitely '55, '62, '67, '69, '94 would all be great years to have in GT5

Historic Grand tourers would be awesome as well: '55, '66-'68, '70-'71

I like the idea very much:tup: . they could expand upon the automotive history. it also would take considerable advantage of the number of cars on track at the same time.

grp a touring car machines would be awesome to have. I'd take em all round the 'Ring

There is an issue with Bernie having the licencing rights for contemporary F1 as well as the 'back catalogue'. I don't know how far back this stretches too though so maybe some of the older ones would be available. I guess that Ferrari will still hold the licence for any of it's older cars. Bugatti, as it was then, has little to do with VAG Bugatti now so those early GP cars could possibly feature with little licencing problems along with other, older, now non-existant marques such as BRM.

GPL, based on the '67 GP season, managed to get the rights to use Ferrari, Lotus, BRM, Eagle & Brabham.

They didn't get the rights to use Honda or Cooper. (They named them Murasama & Coventry respectively)

Didn't Codemasters recently use a similar aged Lotus in Toca3 too?

I'd love for them to go right back to the earliest racing. Perhaps not quite as early as the Benz Patent motor wagon, but imagine taking the Model T out for a few laps against its contemporaries. It may be slow, but what a way to view the HD backdrops.

NASCAR '70, with Daytonas, Superbirds, Talladegas, Cyclones, and a few privateer Chevelles.

Also, some stock cars from '50-'55. Yer Fabulous Hudson Hornet, Olds Rocket 88, Chevy 210 F.I., Chrysler C-300, you get the picture.

Third party updates have put Honda and Cooper in the places of Murasama and Coventry

Yes, I'm well aware of that. The updates didn't have the rights to use them either, but they got away with it as it was an unofficial patch. Polyphony would probably hit the same snags.

Stock cars would be kind of going against the gran turismo grain, seeing as how thats more circle track oriented, ALTHOUGH there are a few road courses for stock cars. I think a better way to put racing muscle cars in the game would be SCCA and Trans Am versions, but yes the stock cars would DEFINTELY be cool too. Also SCCA and Trans Am had a greater variety of manufacturers :)

Old school racers would be awesome, as long as there are enough cars of similar era to make a partial grid. I don't want three '55s, a '57, four '62s and two '65s. That would make for a lame race, as the later cars would walk away from the older models. It would be similar, but to a lesser degree, to the GT40 running in the Sarthe enduros.
