This is a draft thread for a new serie called the Classic Rally Car Championship. There will be two cars to choose from - both are equally specced and tested on a variety of circuits.

This serie will be one-make, tuning prohibited. However, there will be a different car to use each round, but every driver must use the same car as everyone else in those rounds.

CARS

> Stages 1 & 2 - 1998 Mini Cooper - Specs TBC

> Stages 3 & 4 - 1964 Renault 8 Gordini - Specs TBC

> Stages 5 & 6 - 1965 Shelby GT350 - Specs TBC

> Stages 7 & 8 - 1969 Nissan BLUEBIRD Rally Car (510) - Specs TBC

> Catch up round.

*1998 Mini Cooper will be used instead of the 1969 version, due to more natural power, and reduce the amount of boringness.

Cars for season 2 will be younger but will still be the marquees of their era.

HOW THE EVENTS WILL WORK

  • Each stage will be run in Time Trial mode in online GT6. Everyone will be on circuit at the same time to record their laps. The Time Trial will last 20 minutes. Prior to the start drivers will be permitted to practice around the circuit.
  • The fastest time is, albeit, the best result. Meaning that the lowest time is the fastest time. Therefore, for example, if driver 1 achieves a best lap of 1:09.777 in stage 1 and driver 2 achieves a best lap of 1:10.010. Then driver 1 will lead the season standings. But, if driver 1 achieves a best lap of 1:20.110 in stage 2 and driver 2 achieves a best lap of 1:19.205. Driver 2 will then lead the season standings with a total time of 2:29.215, ahead of driver 1 who has a total time of 2:29.887, 0.672 seconds behind.
---------------------------------------------------
  • Drivers who miss rounds, with contact and a valid reason, will receive a 5:00.000 time, which will drop them to the bottom of the table. A catch up round at the end of the season will give that driver a chance to claw back some time. If they attend, that 5:00.000 score will be changed to the time they achieve in the catch up round.
  • Drivers who miss rounds, without contact or a valid reason, will receive an 8:00.000 time, which will drop them to the bottom of the table. A catch up round at the end of the season will give them the chance to claw back some time. If they attend, that 8:00.000 score will be changed to the time they achieve in the catch up round.
  • This rule is in place to prevent drivers from deliberately missing rounds and winning the championship due to the lowest recorded time.
---------------------------------------------------

PROPOSED STAGES

There will be a mixture of gravel, tarmac and snow stages. To add to the difficulty, one or more of the tarmac stages will be held in torrential rain.

  1. GRAVEL - Eiger Nordwand W Trail
  2. TARMAC - Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
  3. SNOW - Chamonix Mini
  4. GRAVEL - Eiger Nordwand E Trail
  5. GRAVEL - Eiger Nordwand K Trail
  6. SNOW - Chamonix
  7. TARMAC - Nurburgring GP/D
  8. GRAVEL - Toscana
Catch up round - Track TBC

THIS IS AN CONCEPT/INTEREST THREAD. THE IDEAS WILL MOST LIKELY CHANGE A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT IS FINALISED.

CARS

Nissan BLUEBIRD Rally Car (510) '69
170 BHP / 895 KG

Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR Rally Car '74
165 BHP / 880 KG

HOW THE EVENTS WILL WORK

There will not be championship 'rounds' as such but championship 'stages'. Each driver will be called on to track individually to set a time. They will have 2 valid laps (white time counter) to set their stage time. The driver with the lowest (fastest) time will be leading that stage. And vice versa.

A driver that AWOL's will be given a 10 minute time. Meaning they will be at the foot of the stage standings. And drivers who wish not to participate in a stage will be given a 5 minute time. This is to eliminate the factor of drivers participating in 1 stage and not the others so they win the championship with the lowest overall time.

How the timing works: the lowest time wins. So, if driver 1 posts a 1:09.577 and driver 2 posts a 1:09.234, driver 2 wins that stage and will lead the championship. But if driver 1 posts a 1:45.778 in stage 2 and driver 2 posts a 1:46.945, driver 1 will then lead the championship with a total time of 2:55.365, while driver 2 is behind in the championship with a total time of 2:56.179, 0.814 behind driver 1.

PROPOSED STAGES

There will be a mixture of Gravel, Snow and Tarmac stages. With a total of five stages in the first planned championship. To add to the difficulty level, one of the Tarmac stages will be held in torrential rain.

Gravel - Eiger Nordwand W Trail
Snow - Chamonix Mini
Tarmac - Brands Hatch Indy
Gravel - Eiger Nordwand TBA
Tarmac - Nürburgrind GP/D

Please be sure to check this out. Any tips are of any help to me and my GTPlanet experience.

Hi MAB96 - I'll send you a message with some ideas to save cluttering up this thread.
