Clean Race Needs Changing

420 Races into Sport Mode and I’ve gotten 7 Consecutive Clean Races twice and 6 a dozen times... I'd say that 90% of the time that I’ve lost the Clean Race it was because I tapped a wall or pushed the track boundaries a little too hard and got slapped with a small penalty. They need to eliminate those two things stated from taking away your Clean Race... how does tapping a wall because I made a mistake and pushed a tad too hard make me a dirty driver? It doesn’t, my point exactly... so reward actual Clean Drivers with the bonus or else racing clean might as well be irrelevant. I would stay in the back and farm the Achievement for 15 Consecutive if I wasn’t already an A+ Driver... my DR would probably tank all the way down to B if I did so...

I agree. I think having an indicator of sorts to know exactly when you lost your clean race would be helpful as well. I got a 5 second penalty on the last lap at Kyoto yesterday for an unknown reason. I went back to test at Kyoto to try to figure out why and it turns out I scraped the guardrail but had no indication whatsoever, no feeling of it, no noise, no sparks, and no loss of speed only a 5 second penalty which seemed rather harsh especially compared to areas where you can almost knock guardrails over with no penalty. This was going downhill after the S's headed into the fast left hand sweeper.

Tokyo is the worst with this one... you get less of a penalty for slamming into the wall and riding it, than you do if you’re pushing the turn to the limit and your rear bumber scraps it... it’s beyond annoying.

My clean race streak gets stopped when I get no penalties, stay on the track at all times and touch no cars, it's just glitched anyway.

Yet other times I get a clean race when I've got a penalty.

It's broken, yet if you really want the achievement and you crashed, you can still preserve your current clean streak by quitting the race before the finish. PD logic.

I've never been able to get past 5. I lose the clean race bonus if I breathe on the grass. I also think it's a bit ridiculous when you can lose it through the fault of someone else.

I remember how i got a clean race in Nurb GP despite:
-Constant ramming\touches between cars (intentional and not)
-Getting punted at the chicane
-Eating off track with all 4 wheels

It was a bit of a miserable race and the results gave me a clean race, it was... almost insulting lol

Cause if you tap a wall its not a clean race is it ? If it were real your race probably would have ended there.

A clean race is no contact, incidents or offtracks. Thats how it should be imo.

Yes, of course, but the problem is that this often does not result in clean race. I've completed many races with no off track excursions of any kind and no contact and still haven't received the bonus. Yet, like some in this thread, I have received the bonus from time to time despite contact or off tracks.

Personally, I have been unable to get anywhere near the 15 streak even though I have had at least that many clean races in a row.

Clean streak is pretty easy if you dawdle round the track at the rear.

I guess the more important trophy should be 'Consecutive Clean Wins'... Or a trophy for consecutive clean improvements of position (maybe a minimum of three places).

But I have often felt that the trophy system is designed for eight year olds... Easily gamed, rarely anything to do with proper racing.

Honestly they probably should have done total clean races and made the achievement like 15/100/250 or something like that... they shouldn’t have to be consecutive, and I’m always curious to know how many people have. Say they just farmed that achievement in the back but really they are a dirty driver... I’d like to know that before hand so I know what to expect going into a race.
