Lol is it just me or are there a lot of entries with a small portion of the cars showing? Haha I don't think they look that bad!

Thanks! I'm sure yours can compare though! 👍

The moving photo travel effect is something I learned back in the GT4 days when in game blur was pretty bad and to get the same effect as 'Blur Type 3' from GT5, you had to use Photoshop. It involves 3-4 layers making sure the background and car are seperate, and then a simple technique is used to find the horizon to apply Radial Blur in 4 different sections.

It's fairly complicated but I'm sure the old guide from the GT4 photo forum is still about somewhere!

GAH I was going to do that - maybe I still will....

For me it was was the word dream. It seemed fitting for a more "arty", darker sorta shot.

Final Entry

I think we already have a winner but the important thing is to participate so here's my

FINAL ENTRY

I'm sure that it won't make it to final poll if it's against the rules. I didn't use brush of fill tool, but if it's still wrong delete it. Too bad I spilled beer on my laptop minute after posting entry and I don't have psd to remove light streaks :/

I just didn't know, I was thinking about adding some to mine, but I didn't know if it'd count as modifying the game and adding stuff we dont have available in GT5.

First of all we don't know if SSRs are considered japanesse :D

I doubt it, since you can clearly see that the signs are in English and on the right side of the road. If it was based in Japan, then they'd have Japanese symbols and would be on the left side of the road... I think.

Actually, if you think about it, I think on SSR5, near the last turn there's a arrow for the lane that's left turn only, and it's on the Right lane, which would mean it's US based somehow. I think.

Here are the different tutorials for adding a motion blur:

A lot of good tips in there! I need to read through each of them again. I would suggest to any newcomer to PS to do the same. Lots of experienced users have written these up.

EXPLETIVE (in a series)....

"Special Stage Route 7 (or SS7) is a fictional circuit featured in Gran Turismo 5. Is is a 14 mile long, ultra high-speed street circuit set on a motorway. It appears to be mainly based on the AVUS circuit which hosted German motorsport races in the mid-20th century. The circuit consists of two 6 mile straights, running down opposite carriageways of the same motorway, connected by two hairpin corners on each end of long straightaways. It is the longest racing track in the series, and ultimately replacing Gran Turismo's Test Course, making it ideal for high-powered vehicles that can possibly go well over 300 km/h. It passes through a long tunnel on both carriageways, and can also be raced in the wet.

* This is the only racing course in the series that does not have any events in GT Mode.
* Unlike Special Stage Routes 5 & 11, Special Stage Route 7 does not have a pit stop.
* Special Stage Route 7 is one of three Special Stage Route variants of 5 and 11 (in which Special Stage Route 11 only appeared in both Gran Turismos 1 and 3) and the only course to have appeared in the latest series out of all sixth and fifth-generation consoles."

Looks like all us SS trackers will have to redo our entries - piss

Where is that from?

I don't think it has anything more to do with AVUS, than the fact that it's a divided highway that loops back.

From what I recall, CSR and SSR were inspired by the Tokyo highways and Skyline, but were always considered fictional.

I forgot to cite the source on that... my 'info' came from the GT wikia, which if anyone is familiar with any academic level research, wikia and wikipedia are a joke in terms of the academy. Right, I know... we're not in school and this isn't a huge debate - honestly I'd love to not have to redo my entry because I really think I caught the right amount of mystery and known... but I'm not a judge and I felt it prudent to at least put what I found about it up. Anything I've tried to find in terms of a substantive answer is nil.

There's debate over this? Really?

Those levels are clearly based on Shuto Expressway system around Tokyo. SS7 has the Rainbow Bridge (PIC1 PIC2) right in the middle of it and in general looks like a wider version of this (not to mention everywhere they drive during the extended credits video in the game). Even the arrangement of red lights on the far away tall buildings is immediately reminiscent of Tokyo.

I'll withdraw my submission if you feel this is an issue, but I've always considered these tracks to be in Japan going all the way back to PSX days.

For the sake of the Wagan and the like, so it's allowed. To me it's more of a big Japanese highway
