Raphaele was selected as the Judge's Choice winner last week, and he decided that this week
ought to be a Graphics Week.

Benmastaw00t won the public vote and the theme he has selected is Monaco GP Poster!

Further explanation of theme, which is chosen by Week 16 Winner, Benmastaw00t:

Since this week will lead up to the famous Grand Prix of Monaco, I want to see some gorgeous race event posters that show what Monaco is all about. Any car is acceptable, but I prefer seeing Formula 1 cars.

There you go guys, a simple poster for the Monaco GP, get cracking!

And remember...
Be creative and have fun!

Not specifically to do with the theme, but in the interests of community spirit and all that, would anybody lucky enough to own the Formula GT, Ferrari F2007 or the Ferrari F10 be so kind as to share it online, so that others can borrow it and shoot it for this theme? Anyone kind enough to nominate themselves would be greatly appreciated!

  • Photoshop or another image editing program MUST be used.
  • Each entry must have some part from a Photomode picture from Gran Turismo 5.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
  • A preview image is not only allowed, but encouraged! However, preview images can
not exceed 500 pixels in either direction. This includes borders or drop shadow effects.
[*]Winner of the public vote gets to choose the theme for the following week.
[*]Public vote winners also get to select the top 12 entries for the poll the following week.
[*]When selecting the top 12 entries the following week, the theme chooser will also select a
"Judge's Choice" winner, the entry which they feel has best captured the theme.
[*]The Judge's Choice winner gets to choose whether the following week will be either a
Graphics Week or a Manipulation Week.
[*]A graphics week will be primarily graphic design and layout based, for example magazine
    covers, or movie posters.
[*]A manipulation week will be primarily based on photo manipulation, for example creating
race cars in game, or making multi-car composites.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

Being a Photoshop competition, there are no limits on editing. Use every tool at your disposal to
create the desired effect. Feel free to utilise HDR techniques, photo stitching, whatever you like!
Your only real restriction is that you must use some part of a GT5 Photomode image!
The main thing to remember is to be creative and have fun!

Hi all!

A small announcement and a small request before people get into it this week:

First of all, TVR&Ferrari_Fan contacted me through the week and was kind enough to donate a car for the winner of this week's competition - so the winner of this week's competition (Week 17) will receive a prize car from him!

Secondly, I already made the request in red in the post above, but for those who missed it, as this theme is likely to feature (but not restricted to) Formula 1 cars, would anybody who owns those cars be so kind as to share them online? It would assist those who haven't made their way through the game enough to earn them, and would come in handy! I'll make a list of users in the first post who nominate themselves, and send them my hearty thanks!

That's all guys - have at it!

edit: sheesh SkylineFX, you're quick! Hopefully some people will share an F1 car online! I've got an F10 an an FGT that I'll set to shared tomorrow :)

Does anyone, need to borrow a F1 car.

I can share a Formula GT and an F10. Won't be home for another 8 hours to do so though.

That's a nice filter! Shame the right side is completely different...

Thanks, although its a lot more that just one filter :) I sort of know, what you mean, but I wanted to have the text separate from the photo itself such that it wouldn't hide it.

Great artwork, fine poster, rpanico14.
Why hurry, take time for research. I don't want to be a grinch ... but:
The 1934 Grand Prix of Monaco was at Easter Monday, 2nd April, 1934 with just 16 entries.
But you are right: The Tank Car looks a little bit like a 1934 Maserati GP monoposto...

Haha you are right, historically it isn't anywhere near accurate. I just wanted to recreate the theme, and as for the date I just used the date for this year's Grand Prix. Obviously there's still some time before the deadline, so I might do another one taking into account the feedback.

Not really sure what to do for this one as I'm quite bad at the whole poster idea, so I made this..

Updated entry.

Added little track map.

Question, If i take a GT5 Image, and Line tool over it to create the stylized look, does that still count as having a GT5 image ?

Just a question regarding this and similar future comps:
Would it be basically possible for a judge or moderator to provide a downloadable replay?
So every entrant might use this for his photosession, no matter if he's got the specific car or if his PS3 has a connection to the internet.
Download runs also via PC/MAC and USB device.

That's actually a really good idea, but I didn't know replays could be saved on USB?

We ran in to this with the Tournament theme suggestions. The issue is that not all regions replays will play on other regions machines which is a total bummer. One idea was to have the participants race each other to create a replay - that way all regions have their own replay, then unconnected participants could download the replay appropriate to their region. What a fun idea Raphaele.
