First of all, no hard feelings to those that didn't get into the poll and congratulations to those that did!👍👍 It was tough trying to pick the Top 15 when there were 37 entries! This meant I had to cut out 60% of the photos and narrow it down to the very best.

I am happy to give you all feedback on your work. The main things I look at in a photo are composition, lighting, colour & tone and the use of positive & negative space.

Could I have some feedback on my entry?
This was a nice detail shot of the headlight, however I felt there was too much negative space on the right side of the image. Cropping the image would improve the overall composition of the photo.

feedback please? i thawt mine was pretty good but i guess im just delusional
I felt that the overall composition of the photo could be improved and since this is a still image, lowering the F-value on the camera will bring more focus to the car. The image is also a little over sharpened for my taste.

Can I have some feedback please?
The lighting and reflections are superb! They really highlight the curves of the car. One thing that irked me was that, part of the car that was closest to the camera is a little out of focus.

Feedback? I feel like the matte wheels had something to do with it.
When I sit back and look at this image, the shadow from the car makes the car look like it is sitting too close to the frame. But when I look closer I can see the gap. Sometimes lighting can distort objects to create unwanted effects.

I was hoping to make it this week.
The sparks in your shot created an interesting effect however I thought that the overall lighting in the photo was a bit harsh and dark.

Can't I multivote ?
Anyway, Feedback ?
I especially like the soft toning in this photo, it helps gives off the vibe of beauty. This would've made it into the poll if I was allowed to select more entries. 👍

Difference of opinion i guess?:sly:
I felt that the image was too plain for my taste. It didn't really stand out apart from the fact it was a Fiat Panda! Looking at the environment, we see stands and signs showing us that this is a racetrack. You don't see many people racing around in one of those... maybe if you took the picture in a city environment, it would look better.:sly:

Must've been hard to choose the poll for this week.
I'm not surprised my oldie shot didn't make it. But for once, can I have feedback too? :D

Voted for Mazdas shot too. Even though it wasn't easy to pick only one shot....:dunce:

The theme is Italian Beauty, and we only have 3 Alfa Romeo entries? Guys, come on :P

Voted for Zambuca's Alfa 👍

Thank you so much for all the votes guys :) Looks like the F40 is going to pull a another victory this time :D However, I have to salute Shaolin for that very bold and creative entry. Well done mate

I have to say I'm disappointed the more creative entries aren't getting more votes. The close up, ShaolinMasta's Lambo and the very last shot all scream 'unique' while still displaying technical ability and yet the winning shot so far is a fairly basic image. A very good image technically (the composition, lighting and exposure are spot on), but there's nothing that screams 'look at THIS!' to me, it's just 2 F40s racing along a bit of road with a bit of grass in the top corner.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but that's my thoughts on this weeks poll. I apologise if I've offended anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that you had voted on my shot (and SlipZtrEm too :dopey:). But yeah, I agree. No offence meant when I say this, since it's a great shot, but the leading photo would've probably been one of my last choices among the photos in the poll. It's just... bland, really. I fail to see what would make over a quarter of voters vote on it. I loved the lighting and reflections in Nbdesignz shots, and when I saw SM's photo, I was sure it was going to be a winner. Mazda's shot was pretty good too, with two F40's racing through the 'Ring, however nothing about it really captured me.

The problem with these comps, and the reason i don't enter a lot of them is the very fact that the poll is such a personal and subjective choice.

Firstly, the poll picker has the choice of picking and depending on what they think is a good shot or not can either create a brilliant poll or a mediocre poll.

The poll itself again can be won by an average shot because one persons incredible is another persons average.

I'm never suprised when i don't win or even make the poll as happened this time and i'm never suprised when a shot i think is a poor effort ends up winning!

But that's the way it all works...it's personal choice even if it is totally frustrating at times. 👍

I'm not at all surprised that my shot has 2 votes, it's a fairly bland shot itself and doesn't fit the theme as well as it could have done. I'm just failing to see what's so spectacular about the leader at the minute is all. I'm not going to let a poll frustrate me though, it's the taking part that's fun. Next week I'm using the F40.

There are about 6-7 easily deserving of votes, I simply voted for the two F-40s because it is quite bold and gave me a personal shot of nostalgia as I did a very similar shot in GT4. So that itself hit me on a personal level. But trust me Mog, your initial post sums up my thoughts precisely and is one of the reasons why I faded away from the photo and especially comp scene. Uniqueness and artistic merit isn't valued that much around here it seems than it was in the GT4 days.

Maybe the photo evoked similar memories in a lot of other people too. 👍 I don't mean to sound grumpy or miserable, it was just something I noticed this week. I'll just keep giving my votes to the more 'out there' entries in the hope the photographer will see it and will take at least some encouragement from it. :)

I don't mean it's frustating and i lose sleep over it, i meant it's odd seeing a shot winning that doesn't have alot going for it in a lot of the comps.

It frustrates the photographer/artist in me! haha

I have to say though; kudos to whoever took the photo because making it look that clean in full size is quite an accomplishment!

Well to an extent I agree with you but like Lee said personal taste accounts for a lot and I think sometimes artistic and unique shots do win the day even now but overall the shot does have to have a certain level of refined quality to it as well.

Still sometimes I find myself voting for something that grabs me overall even if the composition is plain or common. In any case I feel like there are a decent amount of people who have over time upped there level of refined quality and this makes it all the more difficult.
