Yep. Bad luck on not making the poll. Not everyone likes the style of shot you have put up. This is one of the reasons I don't like entering too many competitions.

Talking about me and competitions. I'm glad I didn't enter this one because I wouldn't stand a chance compared to these shots.

im no expert but i'd hang fido's shot on my wall. that would look awesome on a large canvas. also lol at the technicality which means any 60's or 70's car would have been ok.

Implying that my use of panning mode 1 (aka how a real photographer shoots from a standstill) automatically affirms a spot in the pole makes you look foolish. I take pictures that move me and fulfill the objectives of the competition it will participate in.

Just because I have used that style before in previous competitions doesn't mean it shouldn't be included. I suppose then that if Ansel Adams were to enter weekly competitions he wouldn't make the poll because he has used his unique technique many times before.

I still have respect for you as a person and GT photographer, but if people are choosing technique over quality I do not want to have any part in competitions. Sad, because a lot of people in GTP can take a good photo compared to the multitudes of idiots in Forza.

anyways choice of panning mode is important, until you feel that its not, in which case maybe your making a good artistic decision. c'est la vie.

There were many great entries this week that didn't make the poll - that is testament to a very good theme and to the ever increasing skills of the participants. It is just a matter of fact however that only so many can go into the poll and very hard choices have to be made in leaving out some very worthy entries. In the end of course it does come down to the personal preference of the judge at the time and there will always be some entries that others felt should have been in over some that made it.
It is fine to ask the judge for critique but there is little point in getting upset over it - this is supposed to be a fun exercise.

There have been many times I took what I thought was a 'worthy' pic, only to be left out of the poll. There has also been times I have entered a pic which I thought may have been bested by the competition, only to end up making the poll.

It's a tough thing to judge a photo comp as it comes down entirely to your personal tastes....

I'm sorry. Perhaps I was too upset when I didn't make it, but you can't blame someone for being angry when their best effort isn't good enough.

However, the use of real life examples did not pertain to the argument between you and me, rather those that first addressed my complaint saying those style shots aren't popular; those photographers are well known and commended in the field.

Again, I am sorry things flew off the handle. Perhaps we should increase the poll count another 5

Wow, honored to make this poll.
Humbled to have been selected over some fantastic photos that weren't (love that shot by Primus O) and also to be included with the others here.
Proud to be in the handful of B&W/monochromatic entries and to be the only multi vehicle image chosen.
Attempted to convey the feeling I get when viewing the old photo albums my parents compiled.
1st try at Advanced, I feel victorious just to be in the poll.
