"Surely we are all great fans of great cars. This week I would like to see photos
of people and cars, be it either the fancy tourists in phototravel or the fanatic
audience at the tracks. Using composition, try to achieve some kind of interaction
between the fan(s) and the car(s). "

Some here interpreted the theme pretty awesome. The one with the people only in shadows for example....SUPERB:tup:

Although, I think Chromatics pic will rule this round!

I would say that there is nearly no interaction with fans in your pic! It seems like there is one on the right, but it just doesn't show enough of the given theme...

When you wrote "I don't get it" - that's when I got a bit confused

I would probably print all of them I honestly think people did a very good job with all the entries, also the ones that didn't make the poll.

Yeah, I'm serious! It's not that the interaction has to be with eye contact or something like that.
And I never said that some others in the poll do it better, I just pointed out what I think was the issue in his Entry. Just because I can't see any "real" shapes of people or "fans" in it. The picture itself looks great, don't get me wrong on that. I just thought it doesn't suit to the theme very well...

And the one with the shadows is a great interpretation to the theme. You obviously see people standing next to the car, checking it out. Personally I think this is one of the best interpretations in this poll.
As for the other two you pointed out, I think they tell their own story. Whilst the one with the blurry crowd shows how the most fans enjoy races, the other one on top is more like the other point of view. The ones design engineers have...(leaning back and enjoy their work they created)

And I don't really get it why you'd get so harsh!? I just told him what I was thinkin of his pic...
Also, if you say this is one big clique here, I would count FishyJuice to it (or us?) too

So basically as long as the pic had people in anything would have done. i had a great pic of a guy looking the wrong way. i didn't enter it because he didn't look like he was involved in what was going on but now i think of it he could have just got something in his eye flicked up from the passing car. should have been clearer with the theme & said as long as people are in it anything goes. i've no doubt some people agree with what i've said but nobody will say anything lol

well, thats the job of the judge then. I only interpreted the pics as I've seen them.
But I think the major Entries we saw this week did an awesome job. Not just the ones that made the poll...
And, why is TDK's fan not in here?

My perspective on 'interaction' was that the fans or characters played a role in the scene. And that can be done with many effects, e.g. working with foreground/background. Not only what way the person is looking. I'm sorry if it was not clear.

I composed my shot largely around the idea to have the car as close as poss to a group of fans overjoyed to see it fly by.

I see some shots with people, but I feel they are too distant and not bringing the two elements together effectively enough for me.

I therefore chose the Focus of rpanico14. 👍

I actually agree with nismo33 and I see this happen every so often in a poll. I don't want to take away from anyone in the poll s all are fantastic shots but there were others during the week I feel matched up to the theme better with just as nice a shot. This happens every few weeks. Maybe the themes are not as clear as they could be, maybe people feel bad leaving out a great pic from the poll, who knows and I don't want or need to place blame anywhere. I would just encourage folds to be as clear as possible when creating weekly themes and stock to them when it comes time to pare down for the poll.

All done, my soapbox is already worn out this week.
